Kinze is a global manufacturer of high quality row crop planters, grain carts and high-speed tillage equipment. Founded in 1965, we are family owned and operated. As farmers ourselves, we are driven by innovation, customer focus, integrity, mutual respect and excellence.
I am an old farmer that started farming again after retiring because I always loved doing it. Nothing big, 560 acres I farm myself but the majority of my ground I rent out. I bought a new 8 row Kinze old style-- brush meters and finger pickups. It is extremely accurate and simple and while the new, high tech stuff is OK if you have enough acres, I am astonished how well the old technology works, although they have made improvements to both the the finger pickup and brush meter. It works great, planter is built like a tank and I would have nothing else.
For Model Year 25 the 5670 will be offered in Split Row configurations 31 ROW 15″ | 23 ROW 15″, which will also allow a farmer to plant 30 inch spacing with the push units up.
On my 3665 in manual says run on baffle setting number 3. In video it says to run all the way up on setting 5? Obviously running 15 inch rows. Trying to achieve 160k population. 46 cell seed disk. What baffle setting should I use? Any recommendations on vac and bulk fan pressures also? Just got planter and trying to get any advice I can.
That video was actually hugely interesting, particularly the earlier years when Jon retrofitted many John Deere tractors with non original engines. Would have liked a video dedicated to just that subject on its own.
The sad part about Kinze is they are Abandoning Their Customer Base that made them. Over 95% of Kinze’s Customers DON’T Want Electric Drive Planters. My neighbor who has been Running Kinze 24Row 20” Planters since the Early 90’s back when it was the 2700 Toolbar Frame, just wants a Finger Pickup or a Vacuum Drive Planter that is either Ground Drive or Hydraulic at the Most, he has talked about Rebuilding his Old Planter since he CANNOT Get a New Finger Pickup or Vacuum Meter Planter anymore, even though you can get a 3705 in Europe/Ukraine if you want one. Most of Kinze’s Customer just want the Basic/Simple Finger Pickup Planters or a Vacuum Seed Meter Planter at the Most. This is coming from Kinze Planter Customers, Dealers, and even Kinze’s Own Regional/Territory Reps who are ALL Saying that Kinze Customers are UnHappy with the Direction to Electric Only Planters. Just like how Kinze Customers wanted the Basic 1050 (New 1121) Style Grain Cart to comeback, Kinze’s Customers want that Basic Planter that Made Kinze Famous. Kinze use to be a Company that would Build a Planter how the Customer Wanted It, The Customers Way, had now turned into a Company that says this is what We Make, Take It or Leave It! Kinze has Turned Corporate and their Customers have Taken Notice! Kinze Better Start LISTENING to The Wants and Needs of its Customers who DON’T Want a Expensive Planter that is Loaded with Electronics and Electric Drive and Seed Meters, they just want a Basic Planter that Plants Corn, 90%+ of Guys still Plant Corn @ 5-6.5 MPH and have NO Need to Go 10-12MPH because they still can plant their Crops in a Efficient & Timely Manner at 5-6 MPH. Like a Kinze Dealer said, that if a New Planter Company, Comes Out making Finger Pickup & Vacuum Meters they will Get Kinze’s Lost Customer Base. A Territory Rep Told me at a Farm Show, if Kinze was still making these Finger Pickup and Vacuum Meter Planters I could have already Sold 250+ Planters, but Kinze Corporate Refuses to Listen to its Customers Wants & Needs. Kinze has Quit Producing A LOT of Models that they Once Made such as 32 & 36 Row 30” Planters, No 22” Row Planters Anymore, No 36-38” Planters anymore, No 12 Row 20” Planter same Frame as the 8Row 30” 3500 Planter. Maybe I should Start a Planter Company after Hearing from All of the UnHappy Current & Former Kinze Customers, Dealers, and Territory Reps, because they have All said that if someone Starts making these Basic Style Planters Again, they will Dominate the Planter Market!
Awesome Company and Products. Great People, met Mr. Kenzie at two day Auction in south Florida. He is not afraid to shake hands and talk to Farmers !! H.
Who is their market? I don’t know anyone with a planter smaller than a 24. With the record amount of free taxpayer money these freeloading farmers are getting it’s no big deal to have two planters.
Nice new machines! My dream planter is a 3500 or 3505 8r30/15r15 box fill finger/brush meter. That way I could pull it with a nice muscle tractor such as a Case IH 7120 or a Deere 4450.
