I used to go to the barbershop with this dude and had no idea who he was until about a yr later once I moved out of Houston and saw a Bill Bellamy doc and he was in it.
This is gold - I'm loving your interviews, man. I'm either discovering new (to me) comics, or listening to some serious players just share and be generous. Kudos!
Great ep, BUT Chris Rock says people not getting the joke is such a common problem that he makes the set up as clear as possible and even repeats it most of the time. So “they just don’t get it” is probably a more common reason a joke isn’t working than people are willing to acknowledge. Likely because it’s usually said as an excuse and not followed up with improvements as Chris Rock does.
Wow a Tre Black mention on 85 31:58 South and the Hot Breath Podcast! Glad I made an impact where people still remember me even though ibhad to disapear from the game for a while.
Yo this comedian Tre Black, shots out toJ.J. man, he used to host the profesional open mic at the original original Uptown Comedy Corner and would jusblet me work out without time limit when i was still an amateur. Always be grateful for that. Got my first comedy club feauture not long after that. One of the most underrated naturally funny comedians.
That's funny the Sheryl Underwood gave her that advice. I mean just from looking at Sheryl Underwood. No women want to be her, and no men want to f*** her.
Good information. Btw: Bill Cosby, and Dick Gregory used to sit also at shows or lectures. But definitely Ali is taking it to another level in these times.
