Join us searching for gold, finding plentiful spear spots and hunting and gathering food along the way. I like to accumulate hard to find things and explore off the beaten track. I have the uncanny luck of everything that could go wrong goes wrong and ending up in situations that no one would believe if I didn’t document it.
Any gold fields where there is a creek! Not sure of specifics, but every hole drilled In Australia is free to the public so allot of info out there mate! Good luck
There’s a heap on my page and a heap more to come in between my other hobbies! Glad you enjoyed it- there’s a whole gold video playlist you can look through! Appreciate the feedback!
Back up in the mountains again How was the water Kris ?.? Got a few bits mate got a nice one ay I just got back from 2nd trip to Victoria Got a huge specimen and 2.15 grams detected Head out to Tibooburra in October for two weeks detecting Be hot and flys but no people yeew like that Cheers 🍻 CrouchOz
@@FollowingABrokenCompass be up there in warmer times Did they want to charge you to camp ?? New owners now I might see Mick at the old shed stay with him He is a nice bloke cheers 🍻
Mine came out soft. All I did was get a little ozito cheap sander and roughed it up to give some texture. I believe sometimes you need to use a board again and re break but each time the leather lube has done the job for me
Thanks mate!!! Slowly growing- if you guys that enjoy it plaster it around social media Facebook and Instagram I would be stoked! Thanks for commenting!
If you find my other video on crystals you will see I originally went searching due to the gold that should be in these creeks. As my preferred method is to snorkel for it and there was no bedrock, I spent my day walking around the streams and noticed a heap of diggings and some crystal like rock in the stream. After a fluke of a first attempt just scratching a tiny bit in an already found hole I found one. Now I just rinse and repeat, the area is known for crystals you just got to keep going till you get one- big long days but when you hit one it’s amazing
First time watching one of your videos. That was a good video mate. You showed the highs, lows & highs of hunting. I love how we saw the meal at the end too. Great stuff!
Thanks mate, appreciate the time to make a comment and appreciate the feedback. This one I made for myself as a great memeory to one day look back on- I wish somehow I could have put all the years and kms and days spent looking for a deer like this!
Bloody Great video mate. Deer are funny eh, hunt them and they are skittish, slightest noise or smell and they are gone, yet I’m clearing Chinese bush from block, lots of sign of them bedding down in there. I burn the bush in piles and 1 hour after I leave the deer are back investigating. Go figure.
Yeah it’s super strange, I think they just learn well. Once the hunting pressure increases your in all sorts of trouble. I found nz with a bow really hard they run at any movement. I suppose that’s why allot of guys shoot across long distances for them
I’m in Australia, they are a huge threat to our freshwater waterways due to their prolific breeding compared to our natives. In times of drought and low water the carp suffocate the areas left, where as usually our big cod etc just stay put and own a hole each, with the carp they then take all the oxygen out and nothing survives besides them as they can practically live in mud.
Thanks man. I love hunting and I liked what the music did with the other of my passions -making clips. Sorry ya didn’t like it, I got mainly positive feedback on it, but appreciate the feedback back. I hope non of my other hunts are like this and it’s just action no tragic stuff hahahahah! Cheers mate
That stag covered a lot of ground badly wounded but he came back basically to place where he was shot….the last spot he was with his hinds. Even though he was dying he was wanting to be with them again.
Wild hey. I listened to a podcast the other day and a guy had the exact same thing practically happen. They go back to there hinds / rub tree sometimes, something I’ll always check again if it happens. I was blown away by how far he went each time.
@@FollowingABrokenCompass yeah I’m definitely going to do that. It’s just ridiculous how they can do it. Very disappointing. I could go hunt anytime I want with a rifle but hunting with a bow takes time, skill and patience. Things politicians don’t understand
Hunting can be a roller coaster and losing a trophy animal one of the worst scenarios emotionally. It’s very hard not to entertain negativity but in spite of that you persisted and it paid off. Well done….another series of lessons learnt…another story to tell. A trophy to prove it. And the landowner rewarded for his faith in you to do the right thing.
@gordonwells1626 yeah mate, all of the above and more. It was a well earnt animal and the first guy that let me hunt and my still only place I am allowed to hunt solo. All other trips have been a friend inviting me so it made this all that much better. I also just hunted solo till I got a deer. Wanted to learn it all myself, been a wild ride and funny that once that chital dropped they just kept coming. This one is extra special, the hours spent and the long drives out and back to think of everything I did right and wrong just made this two days feel like a week. Dunno if you watched my nz red stag one, but this was a month after. The thought of losing two was hurting my brain! Appreciate the comment mate! Have a great weekend
Thanks mate! Yeah I think people don’t realise how long an hour or two is looking for a deer yet alone that long! But after 4 years I wasn’t leaving till I found him. Appreciate the comment
@@FollowingABrokenCompass how crazy is that. We crossed paths briefly way back then when I started working for them too. I'm now living just south of Brisbane. I randomly came across your channel so I'm subscribed now haha
@christianhendry7136 hahaha nice one man! Well I’m back in the seedy mines cause a builder stole all my money. This is to keep me occupied on the planes and after work! Hope ya doing well man!
Thanks mate, was a wild emotional ride, wasn’t long after coming back from nz and I was at an all time low after losing that big boy- I thought it was a repeat.

Mate, congratulations. excellent hunt, this video just made me relive the time my biggest goat got away on me but i wasn't as fortunate as you. Glad you found him.
@@jamierobertson3295 thanks mate! Bigger about the goat. I don’t think people realise how hard it is to find an expired animal in the bush sometimes. Appreciate your time to comment
Can you use those grubby carp for crab bait ? I was thinking the rain would expose some more of those smokey crystals. Stay safe and can't wait for the next episodes bro. 👉🏽💥🐟
I don’t think crabs would even eat them 🤣🤣🤣 those carp are actually one fish that’s no good for anything! Yeah maybe, might have to head in there next break!
It’s hard to watch when it’s in your own backyard mate, good to see you made the most of the fishing while it’s happening good on your bloke 😂I’m thinking of the replenishing that’s going on out there 😉
Thanks mate! Was a slog but glad to get the monkey off the back, if it dragged on any longer I dunno if I could have kept it up! Was many slow slow hunts out there trying to learn
@@FollowingABrokenCompass ya done well to follow up on him it’s hard but worth it all in the end and again well done on a bloody nice stag keep up the good work 👍
Thanks mate! Appreciate the comment . Yeah I got back into this from a child hood hobbie about 5 years ago and this was the first place I saw a deer and the first Rusa I have taken- so was thrilled, but can agree after hunting a. Few other places that it is bloody hard yaka hahah
