I only recorded this one song. I don’t want to use my mobile phone too much. So I choose some special songs (for me) that I record and share with other people. Mostly rest of the show is without phone to enjoy the concert better 🤘 So enjoy this one 🤘 Hoots!
Ghost songs are tricks. He knows you aren't paying attention to the words. Or even able to comprehend them. Packaged into a dope ass band. No complaints.
Nice vid and thanks for posting. I know this is may be unpopular, esp as I consider Impera to be one of the best rock records for a decade and I LOVE this song as much as all of them, but I just think its not as good a track done 'live' as Griftwood is, which was dropped to fit in Respite in 2023. The energy drops a lot in comparison IMO, which is understandable with Respite being ballad-ish - and Ghost already have the amazing He Is to cover that area. I just think Griftwood is a better setlist choice than Respite, though again I state I love both songs as I do all of Impera.
It serves the purpose of saying a (fake-out) goodbye to the audience through the lyrics and then to highlight and appreciate each ghoul during the outro, like If You Have Ghosts used to do. Dropping energy is also part of the point, so the encore can be more impactful. Not to diminish the other songs or your opinion but it's just some insight into why this song is part of the setlist now, and specifically at that part.
They better for I am seeing them next month and I really want to hear this, especially the Ghoulettes at the end. Even thinking about the culmination at the end still gives me chills.
Great vid and so up close and personal! Loving Phantom's evolving personality and interaction with the audiences. I miss Chris/Aether as much as any fan but time has moved on and it seems he is fitting in so well now, not just with fans but with the other Ghouls too (who after 5 years would have been missing Chris probably more than we ever could).
Remember, this isn't the Angus from the first album, this is his son. Of course he's going to sound and look a bit different. Also, the one we knew apparently got transported into yet another dimension with a BFS this time XD Me I'm just glad there's more whacky power metal to listen to :D
Funny thing is, considering Gloryhammer lore does include multiple dimensions, alternative realities, time travel...technically speaking the Angus McSix universe can easily work into it if they were to ever make peace. We could double Angus singing Angus McFife. That'd be cool.
