Just returned from 5 days in Venice it's over run by thousands of tourists following umbrellas, Venice is overrated there is very little you can see because of the crowds ( i know of which I was one) even without the crowds I would say there is not much to see even architecturally and every cafe is a tourist rip off ! e.g. 200 Euros for a frozen farmed sea Bass done in the oven, If you are extremely lucky you will get a cafe with clean toilets but probably not. Venice is a tourist trap a self promoting Disney world full of hype on the edge of an industrial city a lot of the cafe and shop owners are not from Venice but have paid handsomely to get the ticket in the lottery to open a shop or cafe. It's not even that old when it comes to a European city. Still it's one of the places you have to visit during your lifetime even if only to boast to your friends you where on the Rialto bridge which incidentally is pretty new when it comes to a bridge in Europe ,Florence has a more beautiful bridge 300 years older!
@@jamescardoness3037 hi! Yes, it can definitely feel overrated if there's a ton of people. There's been a lot of news stories about over tourism this summer. I think we lucked out by going in summer 2023 during ferragosto when there were fewer tourists. I still think Venice has a very unique water / canal esthetic and history amongst the world destinations, and it's worth a visit for anyone who enjoys traveling. Thanks for your thoughts!
Hi! We bought the ferry tickets way in advance. We bought a "day pass" ferry ticket from Como to Bellagio, so we had flexibility on when to board. The last relatively fast ferry from Bellagio to Como leaves around 5pm when we were there. We took the train from Como station back to Milan, but I believe there's also a train station from Varenna that goes to Milan. That might be a better option.
@@longandclaire what do you think about buying the ferry ticket from Varena to Bellago at door? Bècause I will go to Varena from Milano and I havent know how many hours to walking around Varena
@@NQ456Gem hi! If you don't know how long you'll be in Varenna, you can look into the day pass ticket from Varenna to Bellagio, it gives you flexibility to board any time
I see you take the bus to the start point of the boats.. does the bus stop in front of the Torokko Kameoka Station? because on Google Maps I cannot find a bus connection from the train station to the boat..
@@na0miChan yes, when we went, there was a bus from the train station that went directly to the boat building where you buy tickets. There are signs for the bus at the train station. I think the bus was free, but things could have changed since then.
Have I made a terrible mistake?? I booked 4 nights for my wife and i for August, it's her birthday so it was going to be a surprise for her. Will we enjoy it at all now, if its so quiet in August??? I cant change bookings now
@@na-dk9vm hi! Are you spending all 4 nights in the Lake Como area? If so, the ferragosto holiday won't affect you that much, as many businesses and restaurants will still be open in Lake Como. Also, the August holiday is more towards the middle half of August, so if you're there at the beginning or end, it won't affect you much either.
@@longandclaire we are in lake como and lugano for just one day tour. The rest is in milan centre. We are in milan from 13th to 18th Aug. Will it still be enjoyable as a holiday?? Its for my wife.
@@na-dk9vm I see. Milan isn't our favorite, but most of the tourist attractions will be open during that time. Many of the restaurants and other shops will be closed for ferragosto though. I think you will still enjoy it, depending on your traveling style.
Paprika Vendeglo is at the end if my street and I've eaten there hundreds if times (15 years) Never had any bad experience and the staff are always lovely.
Hi! We were there around March 23. There were some cherry blossom trees along the river boat route, but it's not enough to write home about, also you're far away from the trees. The cherry blossoms are better enjoyed on walking paths in Kyoto. They usually bloom around April 5, but it can vary greatly from year to year.
It looks beautiful up there! I have always wanted to do Eagle Falls, but I have not been able to find the time. The waterfall looks amazing 😊 I personally have never not seen the lake clear, but I haven't been to the lake area for almost 7 years now. Enjoyed the video. The food looked fantastic 😋
I'm not sure what waterborne diseases you can contract by breathing in the mist. The likelihood is probably low though, as there's no warnings about it on the trail.
@@kellymulderino7156 the great thing about nature is that there are relaxing hikes that are just as beautiful as the more strenuous and adventurous hikes :)
It's been awhile since I've been. Thanks for letting everyone share your adventures. So gorgeous!!! BTW, folks...didn't bring a poncho? Make your own with a plastic garbage bag. It won't protect your head, but it will protect your shirt. Better than nothing!
I was there the week before. The goal was to get to Nevada Falls, but after the grueling stairs below Vernal I decided to cut over to the JMT and Crocket Point and then back down. The snow cave was delightful, people laughing and gigglings as you ducked under the snow cave. I'll be back next year and promise myself I'll be in good enough shape to make it to Nevada Falls.
Really enjoyed this! I’ve hiked it before, but appreciate the info on the current conditions, especially since this is such an exceptional year. Well done! 👍 7:31
Very nice tour. I love going to Yosemite & walking the trails and to see the way it looks now is amazing due to the snowfall California received. Appreciate the video 😉👍
Come On bro really how can you say the Mist Trail lacks that Yosemite magic it’s Yosemite signature hikes to the majestic waterfalls. It feels like you are in a movie. The mist trail is one of best Yosemite hikes ever
Hi! Thanks! I agree with you. I have a habit of comparing any experience I have with other experiences I've had, and in a short video like this, it's difficult to give context to my comments. We really enjoyed the hike that day and would highly recommend it, but the mist trail is less memorable because of all the "man made" steps it has. As I climbed all the steps, I couldn't help but think that I'm not in a natural area. It felt more "staged" vs the JM trail and other trails we've hiked (even though most trails are basically "man made").
I agree with donniereiter3646. I feel that the Mist Trail is the crown jewel of all Yosemite trails (when the water is flowing good)…I’ve hiked just about all of them.
Yosemite is a beautiful place thx for sharing, once you go to the high Sierras you'll always go back. 👍🌲 So many have vanished in that place Safe travels.
California 's Mediterranean climate- with mild winter and dry, hot summers- makes it one of few places on the planet where almond tress can thrive. The state produces approximately 80 percent of the world's almond supply. The bloom usually begins around mid- February and lasts through mid- March...from Fresno, California.

Thank you for the video....I plan on going to Nara the second week of April. It's nice to see it wasn't crowded, what day did you film in March? How long did it take you to clear customs and immigration at the airport?
Hi! We were in Nara around 3/16. Immigration and customs was busy when we landed at 5pm on 3/15, took us about 1hr and 15 mins to clear it, despite around 12-15 immigration officers working the booths. Enjoy your trip!
