Ok so now I want a miniseries sitcom where these three are just living life and breaking each others balls. No high stakes end of the world shit. Just a nice slice of life where they're just living life like they deserve to.
Honestly, I'd be satisfied if they killed Trevor for real at the end (even though that would go against the ending of a certain game), because it'd be a bittersweet, but still hopeful ending. Then the motherfucker comes back riding a horse and I'm just like "MY BOY"
After 3 seasons of survival through sacrifice and bitter victories, this finale was a perfect twist. For once the protagonists of a gritty and tragic tale can fully win.
Alucard talking about he doesn't know about the future. We who have seen Nocturne: You are going to be the official Belmont babysitter, looking out so they don't get into to much problems. ^^
Okay but picture this: Trevor does not survive his fight with Death and a bereaved Sypha is convinced by Alucard to stay at the castle. The last Belmont is raised by their speaker mother and Godfather who happens to be the son of Dracula IN Dracula's Castle and studies in the Belmont Hold nearby. Now tell me that Nocturne was a better choice by Netflix.
I haven't watch the show except in clips but from my feeling this scene is so emotional because the whole thing is so grim you really thought the writers WOULD kill one of the three off at the end.
Everyone talking about Alucard trolling Trevor. Keep in mind that Trevor Belmont in this whow runs on spite the way cars run on gasoline. Alucard probably saw how bad a shape he was in and decided he could use a little gas to keep that fire lit while he recovered.
For myself, it isn't even Trevor begging to be killed that gets me. It's the quiet look of mute horror as he notes that his worst nightmare may have been realized.
Id say its less luck and more that he earned it fucker stepped up to DEATH and almost died to earn that wife and friend really the luckiest part was that he survived to enjoy it
Alright, I'll be the one to say it. This ending was completely contrived BS. It made _zero_ narrative sense and undermined Trevor's perfect heroic sacrifice in episode 9 (you know, the one where he was caught in a massive explosion and fell 200 meters after stabbing Death itself with a suicide dagger). We must hold our writers to better standards than this. I could think of a better ending in 5 minutes: Sypha decides to stay in the town; cut forward a few years to her raising her child in the town and introducing him to the glory of Trevor's legacy in the Belmont hold, where he will one day take up the Belmont vocation; meanwhile, Alucard is living a contented life with his new wife Greta alongside the people of the town, mirroring the theme of Dracula's relationship with his wife but this time transformed to be in harmony with humans, bringing the whole series full circle; no Dracula resurrecting - he and his wife's souls were destroyed in the Rebis explosion and they can finally be at peace rather than living in hell; we get a brief look at Targoviste, where people are starting to rebuild and regain a foothold in the ruins; Isaac is ruling his kingdom firmly but with wisdom, and he and Hector share a last monologue; we close on a fade-out of Trevor's grave under his childhood tree. THE END. As it is, we got this weak Disney/Hollywood cop-out which makes no sense and cheapens the emotional weight of the ending. I'd be content with a happy ending but it must be set up and earned.

Allowing a hero to actually live/enjoy their life after saving the world is not contrived. It’s an earned reward for the mountain of sacrifices already made along the journey. You just have issues that require therapy to resolve but you want them imposed on others in the media consumed.
