They turn up think they are so clever, so ironic--ha ha ha laugh at the locals, laugh at the area. If you dont like it go elsewhere, if you'd done some research before you arrived you'd realise it was beneath your delusions of grandeur. And don't blame the immigrants Portwood was a far nicer area years ago with less students and any decline has been contributed to by students who are so intelligent they can't even figure out how to put rubbish in the bin instead piling it up in their front gardens or think it's fun to run along the high steet naked because they are in the uni sports team. Studying is hard work ? -pffft !! try digging a hole for a few weeks/years coming home every day aching all over to earn a pittance rather than training to be an overpaid pill dispenser for the drug companies who'll be replaced by a machine in 10 years anyway. And if these medic students worked so hard why didn't they get accepted to the top 20-30 universities for medicine in the UK instead of having to endure lowly Southampton ? Look down your noses all you like at the working classes and migrants but you'll happily kill a few or feed off them and the NHS wont you. Deluded self entitled parasites.
My daughter is there as a student..she has no time to reflect on it like these people as she is hard at work at Highfield campus and hardly at her lodgings and she certainly is not privileged. And has no time to frequent the bars and drink away her money. She is striving hard.
