Welcome to 2 Left Thumbs, a variety channel + indie game publisher! 2 Left Thumbs is a place for video game theories reviews and easter eggs, Flash game retrospectives (Flashlight), developer interviews, video essays, and so much more!
PS. No, I do not have two left thumbs. It is a play on words, essentially teasing myself for being bad at video games (ie. a bad dancer has two left feet)
Tolkein isn't the "grandfather of fantasy." Tolkein re-popularized Fantasy for the 20th century. This notion that the "collective concept of goblins and orcs" coming from Tolkien is grossly misinformed. Goblins come from popular European folklore for the past thousand years prior to Tolkien. The concept of Orcs have been around since antiquity. The name "Orcs" comes from Beowulf's "orcneas" as Beowulf had creatures that are quite similar to Tolkien orcs. Tolkien shortened the name "orcneas" to "orcs." Clearly Tolkien was a much better read than the guy that made this video. How can early Sci-Fi writers cite Tolkien as an influence when Tolkien wasn't even alive when they wrote their sci-fi novels? When you mentioned sci-0fi, you put a bunch of fantasy books lol. You seem 100% oblivious that Sci-fi, Fantasy and fiction in general have been popular before Tolkien existence. smh How is it that a person with internet access can get so much wrong within 2 minutes?
Tbh I don't think I'll be playing flash games on browser ever again.the Flashpoint archive is adfree, about complete and keeps all my saves in one place. So yeah I'm glad to hear new grounds is fully functional again but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I wont be stopping by for much more than nostalgia.
Looks like I have to remake my old account. Stupid younger me deleted everything created when the flash announcement happened. One video of stick fighting wars cinematically animated and a bunch of tower defence games. Unfortunately I am a little rusty on making anything flash related. There used to be a flash dev tool called elephant onion or something like that made the more annoying parts of flash dev more fleshed out back then. I still remember how making flash stuff got me a couple more serious art projects back then. I was SummonTheDestruction, never thought I’d see this revival coming.
Here is what i don't get. Why are the events changing. In the first and second Bunnykill, Snowball killed both Smoke and Dust. Then in Bunnykill3, Smoke came back and is now an allie, and Dust even returned, at first i thought the injurings to Smoke were not that lethal. And Sludge was somehow able to bring Dust back. But in Bunnykill5, Snowball was task to save Dust, his former enemy, and Smoke became evil again, oh and Sludge came back too! I don't get the lore here? Maybe *Hopefully* if we ever get a new Bunnykill animation, Maybe it will explain this strange phenomenon. Hey if Hank and Tricky were able to return from the dead everytime they killed eachother, why can't Smoke, Dust and Sludge? (Also the reason im looking into this series is because Snowball has some potentials for a fighter for Newgrounds Rumble so im studying what would make a good moveset for him. Also because i found this series abit charming NGL)
with the game dwarf planet one it reminds me a lot of the franchise the game especially with the gravity mechanic of moving planet to planet and how all you have is a walk forward and backwards button at first
Wild how you said “Kris wore a red horned headband to emulate Asriel” and also said “Ralsei has red horns” and you somehow didn’t come to the most obvious conclusion that Ralsei is a Darkner version of that red horned headband
