Great video! Just wondering. If founders or early employees buy shares through a Self-directed Roth IRA like the famous story of PayPal’s Peter Thiel, they become “disqualified persons” right?? Therefore, these people are unable work on the day-to-day activities of the company?? Is that correct? So was Peter Thiel able to work at PayPal in any capacity after he bought shares in a Roth??? Hi there! Thank you for your comment. According to information posted by Pro Publica, he owned less than 50% of the shares of PayPal, Facebook, and Palantir. The amount invested in all three companies were relatively minor, therefore, he, nor any disqualified person (employees) were not involved in any prohibited transactions. Theil used his Self-Directed Roth IRA to purchase privately owned shares before they were listed on the New York Stock Exchange, resulting in large returns for his Roth IRA. Employees or owners who own more than 50%, either collectively or singularly, are disqualified persons. Bank United is closing out the accts Madison set up. We have 90 days to move our $$. How do we contact Madison to start the transfer? This acct also bot a rental home, btw the State would only allow my name with Trustee after it on the deed, they (Lawyer) went by the Trust documents that Madison provided.
What happens when the Bank youre using for your SDIRA thru Madison contacts you giving you 90 days to move your money bc they are no longer allowing these kind of accts? Bank United.
