I've been trying to leave messages for customer support but nobody is ever available. When in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear, when I take my foot off of the accelerator it feels like the stick is hitting something is that normal
Poor quality video - why shoot it in the dark using a flashlight? , and a confusing dialogue. It might be a great product, but this video does nothing to encourage me to consider buying one.
Have spent hours trying to stop scratching the reverse , I cannot see how it can work at no point can I get going from 5th to 4th to lock of stop hitting reverse. A better video is needed guys to show the movement of the lower part and the lockout arm .
Finally figured out the reverse lock out set up now works - I hope - first is a bit of unknown not as positive as was but hey who needs first . Still think a little bit of time on a new video showing the lockout a bit more . Cheers guys
Horrible company! Purchased on Amazon for my 987.1, and it never materialized in the mail. Made multiple attempts through text, emails, and voicemails, but no response back. Only crickets!!! Had to apply for refund from Amazon.
Really enjoyed watching this video. Need to know where you guys are located at, and how do I contact you? I'm interested in having you install a complete Numeric Shifter set (cable+shifter) on a 718 Cayman. I'm fairly handy with working on a Porsche, and while one person can do the installation very slowly, having two experienced guys and a hydraulic lift will make life much much easier. Thanks and hope to hear from you. Frank.
So you guys did a 22 minute installation video for your pedal covers but only two small adjustment videos for the shifter and cables? Can you do a complete soup to nuts installation video for your shifter and cables?
I got mine a few days ago and I can't recommend it, I'm really disappointed! I will try to get my money back. Fist: The shifter does not go into the tunnel, that's the reason why they made cut in the video, no way to just "wiggel it in" like he said in the video. A lot of work was required Second:No such thing as "plug'n'play" I paired it with the OEM rod and had chosen the upper hole for the longer setting. With this setting I can't shift into the gears 1,3 and 5 because the shift lever is hitting the shifter cage. Third: My delivered shifter has mechanical play in the bushing and you can feel a clicking.
@@AngryOldBastard 1991, I had chosen the Numeric shifter because I did not want to cut the second hole into the tunnel for the larger bushings...I can't get over the clicking of the bushings, even my wife noticed it and that means something!
Had the shifter installed in my 991.1 c4s. Unfortunately the numeric shift lever has too much play with the oem shift knob, creating rotational slop in the mechanism. Might go back to stock because of this.
I was excited about ordering this, but I can't believe this is an official corporate video. Lighting using an iPhone? Really? The most confusing and poorly produced official instruction video ever.
This video was likely shot in a car that has had the trim removed several times and by a person who has done it several times as well. First time was a pain - especially that center trim piece.
You really need to offer this kit with a round shift lever like the kit FD offers, AKA the Singer look. It looks much better as a finished product that way. It's only a single part of the kit that would need to change. Unfortunately many of us simply can't stomach a plastic shift knob, no matter what you call it, and the 917 style wood option truly is king in this world so you need a way to offer that option. Nobody who knows how to drive stick needs a shift diagram. :)
Very confusing explanation for coupler adjustment. May be useful to redo that part with "third" and "fourth" clarified and use terms other than "this way" and "that way".
Question, I have an 87 that I am doing an LS swap in, bought as a roller so no engine or sought after G50. Likely going to build a 915 with an LSD, will this shifter bolt up to my 87? Picking the car up in a week so can't look to compare. Great looking product!
I search for this video to do research before I buy Shifter and cables for my 991 GTS... Disappointed by the political T-Shirt.. You almost had my business.. Gonna have to go with OEM Porsche short shifter.
The reverse lock-out looks like it's on the passenger side of the shifter for the first 28 minutes of the video, then suddenly it's on the driver's side. Why was this swapped? Seems like it should be on the passenger side for dog-leg 901 transmissions, and on the driver's side for 915. Correct?
Very helpful video, thanks. A comment for others doing this installation (or any type of change to the gas pedal): take extra care that the rubber boot is correctly positioned. If it's not, it can catch on full throttle and stick open for a second. Not what you want!
Awesome! I have your shifter and cables in my 997. Looking forward to this on my 964 also. An adjustable golden rod video would be great with your shifter at the same time.
I worked trade shows for my own company for many years. Thank you for sharing the miserable but necassary experience LOL. It's all good in the end. You network and sell product, have fun and are exhausted. You guys showed the sacrifices. I was at the show too and missed you guys. I rolled in right as it was wrapping up to meet some friends. I did get to see some vendors like FabSpeed who drove some sweet cars up early that morning from Philly. Also picked up 2 nice OEM 930 front fenders from the actual swap meet. Marked down from $300 to $200 and offered $150 for the pair and they accepted right as they were packing up. Not at a swap meet without bringing home some parts! 😀
