Now we can really talk about a graceful old laker passing through the canal, under the Aerial Bridge, and entering the harbor. There is something about the old lakers, with their bridge on the bow, that just makes them look much more graceful than their newer brethren.
The "Gwen," with her load of wind turbine blades, looks beautiful entering the canal from Lake Superior, passing under the bridge and entering the harbor. It's interesting that there is a tug giving her an assist through the canal and to her berth in the harbor.
A beautiful "saltie" passing through the canal, under the Aerial Bridge, and entering the harbor. They have a beautiful day to do it, too. Got the tour boat shadowing them, too.
A beautiful view of "Charlie" slipping through the Duluth Canal at night. The reflections of waves chasing her under the Aerial Bridge and into the harbor are magical. The radio chatter between her and the tugs was fascinating. How many "salties" carrying wind turbine blades, arriving in Duluth, does this make? Seems like one a week.
