Do you mind if I ask how you were led to the convent & how God communicated to you in that season? Did you feel He had clearly confirmed that vocation at the time?
So I am new to learning about this, loved your series. Just curious, why do people see being a nun and spending hours praying so beneficial to society? Wouldn't it be more helpful to the world to be part of it and be examples for other humans and literally change other peoples lives? I see some nuns pray 6 hours a day I don't really understand the reason or why this way of living is so helpful for God and everyone around you. Thanks!
Don’t fear. I left 20 years ago, and cried for months. But new experiences opened my heart again and I felt joy. You will too! The world is open to you!
You made the right decision - God calls no one to a celibate life and miss the joy of a companion and children...plus the RCC is not the true church as you have been taught...read the 2nd and 4th commandment in your bible then read it in the catechism as they are different because the RCC changed the commandments..God led you out !
Your room looks very smart and cosy. I had assumed a Sister's cell would be very spartan. Please pray for me. I'm trying to live a simple life with Jesus at home, and at 76 with health issues I couldn't Iive a sister's life in a convent.
I know the world views a woman religious life is cold and dry, but we have an order of sisters who are the most joyful people I know as bees are attracted to honey, the girls gather around the sisters with laughter. We had 40 years of Atheist communism and we are called the most atheist nation in europe, but i see worker and business people at noontime mass everyday, in winter people lining the walls at mass when the holy water is frozen and people gathered around a hundred year old iron crucifix in the field for a blessing of the farmers.
Wow, you're all grown up now and married. Seemed like yesterday you were just a little girl teenie bopper all fired up to be a nun and save the world but I guess you quit, gave it up, dropped out, and finally found your true calling. Have some kids, you'd make a wonderful mom.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT HIM. HE AND ALL THE REST WILL FIND SOMEBODY BETTER THAN YOU FOR THEMSELVES. When most guys want to get married, they want some woman that will focus on building a family and a future, working hard, saving money, buying a house, having children and grandchildren, doing things as a family such as Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc. If you don't know what the heck you want, become a nun, you can always bail out, quit, change your mind if you really really really want a husband and a family and a normal future find a good guy.
Dear sister in Christ, yes, God speaks to us through the beauty of His creation, absolutely! I too am deeply connected to God and am in awe of Him when admiring/contemplating His creativity in nature. However, Jesus Is uniquely, truly Present in the Eucharist...body, blood, soul and divinity! There is indeed a difference of His True Presence in the Eucharist over God communicating His beauty through a tree.... praying for you in your journey of discernment. May God bless you and keep you close to His Sacred Heart always.
God states in Scripture that Christ Jesus is the ONLY intercessor between God and man. Mary was a virtuous, righteous, pure servant of God whom He chose to bare our Savior Lord Jesus. She was NEVER elevated to being a god or intercessor. Praying to anyone but God is idolatry...God is 3 in 1...Father, Son, Holy Spirit. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,"
Jesus was born before the death of Herod in 4BC and there was No Bible for 400 years and I doubt you can imagine Christianity where the Bible is not the foundation but the Apostolic Church is, that Catholics which you seek to correct created the Bible in 397AD, 400 years of people not quoting one verse out of 7,957 verses making up scripture for their self satisfaction. The Bible is a Catholic Book it was not dropped in the sands of the sea of Galilee by Jesus.
