Shakin’ it up from Scene to Screen! We're Linda and Al Lerner from MoviesandShakers.com and we have interviewed United States Presidents, politicians, authors, actors as well as directors of the latest movies. We created this site to give you a different kind of review with background details on how the stars and the movies got to the big screen. We'll help you decide if these movies deserve your time and hard cash.
When Mr. Byrkit says the ideas just flowed out of his head; believe him! When I was in high school with him; I always wondered how he was able to come up with the things he said!
Hi. We've checked 50 streaming services here in the States and can't find one that's showing this movie. Also looked for a place to buy or rent and not having much luck there either. If we find it available anywhere we'll let you know right back here. Thanks for reaching out.
WOULD BE EXCELLENT AFTER 2 YEARS if the documentary SONG OF CICADA was made available to the general public through digital download purchase platform such as Amazon or Apple TV and added to streaming site platforms such as RU-vid, Amazon Prime Video, Nettflix or Max. Sadly many of Dale's friends, fans, and those interesting in the subject matter have not seen the movie yet including me. Many were unable to travel to other States for film fest. Would be great if this could finally be remedied. Thanks.
I've spent 30 minutes searching every platform possible or place to buy this as far as Google and Bing are concerned it's not available? Anyone know why?
That you for this movie. I just texted my Sister and was reminded of the time we were waiting in line on the stairs to get in. It was her first time. I wanted to share my life with her. It is really sad for me to look back. I was in my 20's. Of the 20 guys that we hung out with, 17 were gone by 1990. I am married now to a wonderful man, we live in the Bay Area. I don't often look back, it is too painful. But this movie represents an important part of my life. For that I thank you.
I was there for many years from the 70's till disco died ( was killed) but I could contribute tons of info. I had a friendship with the D J's. I went there to dance period. and dance I did. never drank alcohol, only water, but rarely missed a Friday or Saturday night for many years. It was a high light of my youth. I am eternally grateful that I experienced it, including The Backlot. I would signal the DJ's when the pitch of the music was off so they could adjust it. They told me that the energy was different and at a very high level when I danced. It was my intention to raise the vibe for everyone in the room.
The people who killed Disco are now Trump voters. Actually, it's our fault for allowing them to think they killed it - the beat went on, but under an assumed name. We learned our lesson, and kept dancing.
~ Great work about a magnificent mogul; Tyler Perry...I thought I could not be more impressed with him until I watched, "Maxine's Baby. The Tyler Perry Story." Love it! 💖
One of the greatest tricks about this movie is it made me forget what exactly they were working towards. I was so pulled into the world and the characters and the political machinations, that I forgot the end goal was to abolish slavery in the US. But then when it happens I had goosebumps to imagine what it must have felt like to be there, and this mastery of this film really makes it easy to imagine.
From Meatballs, to Wet Hot American Summer, I love a good camp film. Am I wrong or does this cast have the look and feel of 80s Hollywood stars. I loved this review, you both have great energy. I didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. Theater Camp has been added to my must-see watchlist. Glad to be a subscriber👍🏽👏🏽
Thanks for your question. The film’s website says a wide release is coming soon. You can contact the production company at info@punch9movie.com for more information.
As an eccentric Aquarius born the day before Dale, and with Dale as one of my closest friends... We are all excited when this amazing doc will be available for streaming and digital purchase. Sadly many fans have not been able to get to a film festival.
I got to know Dale back in the 90s I'm glad to see him doing well and honored that he includes some of my work among his wonderfull collection. I still remember a particular artifact of Poppy Z Brite and a porcelain Predator sculpture.
Too bad that the only people who have seen this film are film festival attendees. I registered on the film's website and wrote to the filmmakers trying to buy or stream or rent a copy and never received a reply. I can understand that if there is some kind of plan for wide release in theaters, but we're almost halfway into 2023 and so far there's nothing.
I feel the same way. Especially since I'm a close friend of Dale. I know Robert/Aaron are working hard on trying to get a stream deal with Netflix or other streaming. Hopefully soon. I just talked with Dale and he mentioned hopefully we will know something by the end of July 2023. So hopefully just a couple of more weeks.
