I am an Orthodox Christian in America with an interest in Orthodox tradition, folklore (especially the oft forgotten folklore of America), and writing.
The Tabellion is my personal project cataloguing all this. In this project, I hope to: - Explore an ancient faith in a country where it is still relatively unknown - Revive the American folkloric tradition and look at what it reveals about the American soul - Publish and share my own writing projects - As a liberal arts major, examine media through rarely explored lens of literary analysis, such as through an Orthodox or Christian lens of understanding
I greatly appreciate any and all support I receive and you're all in my prayers.
I have essay to do about this saint. I was really confused my bible states on extra information judas of James wasn't a half-brother of Jesus Christ. Then on the internet it states judas was, because his mother named Mary was a cousin of the virgin Mary. it also states judas was the son of Mary and joseph but if that were true Mary wouldn't be called the virgin Mary. thank you for this video it really clears things up. it makes since 👍👍
A truly helpful example. Helps me broaden my understanding of the limitlessness of God’s mercy, as he went from positive extreme to negative extreme - and still was forgiven.
(matthew bible 1537) Iudas 1:1 ludas the seruaunte of lesus Christ, the brother of lames. To them whyche are called & sanctyfied in God the father, and preserued in lesu Christe. acts 1:13 And when they were come in, they went vp into a parler where abode bothe Peter, and lames, lohn and Andrew, Philip & Thomas, Bartlemew and Matthewe, lames the sonne of Alpheus and Simon zelotes, and ludas lames sonne. !!! they wanted to hide out truth
I would recommend Vinland Saga , it's a redemption animanga about a young man who's lost in life and war but changes and forgives others. It's very stoic and similar to Christianity philosophy
We shouldn't give that much honor to a picture, should we? Muslims treat their book like this and in the day of the printing press it doesn't make sense. It's not the physical book that is important, but it's content. It's the deeds of the saints that are exemplary, their character. Not their likeness and not icons of their likeness.
@@basementlm4200 You realize gorey has long been the aesthetic of both Catholic and Orthodox forms of expression? Our God’s greatest act was his bloody body being crucified remember? Also something doesn’t have to be explicitly Christian to be a good Christian anime, the main message is that a true warrior has no enemies and it’s paired with plenty of Christian imagery and characters like Einar who are devout Christians.
@@T_Crusader I've never seen an icon with axes stabbing through people's heads and eyes being gouged out one of the episodes had a bunch of naked ppl in it too lol the one that was about how Vikings bathe on Saturdays
@@basementlm4200 There is literally icons of many apostles being martyred in ways just as that and worse; heads cut off, set alight, skin flayed, etc. so again I don’t see the disconnect. Ask for nakedness…so? It’s a realistic anime, horrible and graphic things happen, it having a Christian message doesn’t mean it’s child friendly.
@@T_Crusader I was always taught that purity is one of the most important virtues for Christians, so it's better not to see graphic images. This is just my opinion. Afterall, the eyes are the light of the body
Orthodox priests that are traditional and guide people to purity: bad Orthodox priests that are updated to know modern problems and have information to protect people from making modern era mistakes: bad You people are just NOT pleased😅
Объясню! 1.
@@tgs219 Its not the video but the message of false assertions on reality which i dislike cant scroll past it, and it deserves criticism. Religion is wrong,
The common thread here isn't that God is anti-abortion per-se, but he is against the bodily autonomy and choices of Women specifically. Note that it is a man who makes the decision on the ordeal of bitter water, and a man who performs the ceremony - no choice is offered to the woman Likewise the Council of Ancyra only adresses women - as does Josephus. What God objects to is not necessarily having abortions - decreed and performed by a man this is seemingly fine - it is women having agency that is the issue. A truly biblical abortion policy therefore would be one where they can only be approved by either the woman's father, or husband/sire of the child - and abortionists can only be male
Thank you for this wonderful conversation. I'm watching this during the feast of nativity. Glorify the lord who blessed our mission with our first Liturgy, feast, and baptism in our new building after 7 years of worship in a space borrowed to us by the Roman Catholics. Merry Christmas! Christ is born!
Glory be to God for all things! May you and your family have a blessed Nativity! My family will be watching this as we participate in the twelve days. Christ is born! ☦
I heard a familiar story from a Islamic video a month ago, it makes me wonder if the story from the Islamic video I watch is related to saint James 🤔. Related to temptation things and killed a woman. May God forgive us in our sins
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you have any suggestions for any topics like this one, feel free to suggest. Always looking for interesting subjects to look into.
@@helremI uploaded one a couple weeks ago and working on a new one now. Production slowed down a bit due to life getting hectic, but hope to make a lot more soon.
Hearing the original Little Mermaid fairytale was my favorite part. The Disney-ified version of the story really highlights how far we've fallen from an understanding of invisible, spiritual things.
