Crazy when I was there a rock fell from the mountain and destroyed a concrete barrier there. I did a waterfall bike tour there and it happened right before I headed back on a bus
I will probably be moving to Ecuador soon could you please talk about the bank accounts there with high interest rates? I really want to use them but am a bit confused on how they work and how safe they are. Also how to do taxes in Ecuador
In the UAE you dont have to pump your own gas or pick up your tray at a mall. the rest i dont get how anyone would want to throw stuff out the window or tie a dog up on a roof. But guess what in the uae we have safety as well. lol come to the uae
@@MrSecondPassport Peru will provide electricity to Ecuador in the next years. Also sent aircraft for extinguishing forest-fires. Have you thought that maybe your point of view could be misguided ?
Hi there! I need to sell my property located in Rio Negro / Ecuador, but I don't want to do it through real state agents, we want to deal directly with the buyer. We own this beatufil cabañas with river view. Any of you happen to know how can I advertise them?
This person is really ignorant especially if he is trying to make an investment argument when it is the number one tourist city when you consider every aspect of living there and that’s why it’s so expensive why is it so expensive to live in California or nyc when both of them have huge problems if you don’t like it fine to each his own but investing you are absolutely incorrect
Not sure how the "textnow" can work. All the banks I've been involved with require you to register the US phone and then will text that number. You can change the number but ONLY once you are actually logged in. Thus an ever changing US phone number to text, just won't work!
One thing I noticed when looking for rentals in areas like Cumbayá and Tumbaco was the huge difference in rental prices for similar sized properties. The general theory from locals were that the houses with the very high rental prices were cartels laundering money. I don't know how true that is but it would be one explanation. Unfortunately I think the biggest problem is that most Ecuadorians see gringos and expats as all being rich so they can try to extort them which is simply not the case especially nowadays. It's a shame because expats as rule are very reliable tenants who pay on time.
The prices are disproportionate compared to the salaries... Until they get control of the crime and people change their opportunist culture then I can't see it improving soon unfortunately
Another thing to remember if you do bang on the local woman and make a baby and get married to her, the chances are the whole family will be eating at your wallet. And they will do it in such an entitled way. Ie what's yours is mine type attitude. By means have your fun, but get out of there before your snagged and regret it. You'll wake up one day as a spent cartridge with an empty wallet
One caveat to consider in these less-than-first-world countries is condo elevators. I rented an 8th floor condo on the cheap in another country. When I arrived I discovered only 1 of 2 elevator worked for a 16 floor building. When I inquired how long the elevator had been out of service, I was told 2 YEARS ! Supposedly they're waiting on parts. The elevators were also HALF the size that they are in the US. It was a looong week trudging up and down 8 flights of stairs. The condo was really nice with a good view. So just be aware when shopping for condos, you might end up in a similar situation down the road.
I think the difference is how much the average wage is in comparison to the cost which in Ecuador is significantly less so owning a car is in comparison kinda expensive in Ecuador. Here in the UK the Great Wall brand hasn't taken off due to it's low ncap rating and high depreciation. I would never buy new unless I planned on owning the car for at least 10 years because the depreciation is too much. I wish that Ecuador abandoned it's harmful high importation taxes to make obtaining vehicles and parts for foreign brands more affordable. It would also mean buying lower emission vehicles would be easier and cheaper
We had our living room sofas and chairs made and we told them to add extra padding. If you have been here for a while you'll know exactly what I'm getting at.
@MrSecondPassport Whats the best way to sell land in Ecaudor? given the crime and the high % of dealing with scam artists... how does one sell ? can you even trust REMAX ? need to sell asap
😂 i remember going to a place for lunch and needed to go number 2s and went to the baño and all four would not flush (no water) and were all full of turds half way up the bowl...😂 i had to wait until I got home.. only in Ecuador 😂🤢
