IE Pinball has made a mission to deliver some of the highest quality pinball video broadcasts available. Our first major broadcast was of our own 2015 It Never Drains in Southern California. Since then, multiple major events have been covered such as the IFPA National Championships, IFPA Pin-Masters, and California Extreme. We also stream gameplay videos and tutorials both here on RU-vid and on Twitch at twitch.tv/iepinball
How can you tell if the score is 50,000,000 or 150,000,000? I get the last digit being the tens of millions, but how can you tell if it's 100 mil or not?
Just recently discovered this game and had to come see you destroy it. It's a lot of fun and I love the music, I agree with others that they need this one turned up!
Hey Karl, Did you do any tuning on the Reel shot? The Jaws that I play frequently has the reel throw it into either the wall that guides the right ramp, above the pop bumper, or it throws it into the pop bumper. Also how did you get the fishing reel and steering wheel to spin so smoothly?
I didn't have to tune this one but have heard of the issue before and assisted a friend out remotely with his. It's just a minor bend of the reel ball guide on the left hand side to fix it. As for spinning, make sure the locknut on the top isn't ultra tight. The plastic should be able to wiggle and tilt, then add just a dab of oil to the bearings.
The Jaws pinball I played on location wasn't even updated to the latest code, so I had to convince them to do that and it took an hour and a half to update the game. Even when it did, I tried to get the 4th of July challenge badge and I played it and got the requirements multiple times but it wouldn't unlock for me. This really made me angry because this was the one time I had a chance to get that badge and now I have to wait till next year because Stern's servers didn't recognise it!
@@lfp531 gz actually my least favorite of all of them. can't stand the stop and go of hitting the building and having to wait. hitting the scoop and having to select multiple things, hitting the magnet grab thing by the bridge and having to wait. I'm not big on sitting around and waiting on my ball to come back to me. fast and furious.. Borg and Ritchie 4 lyfe.
Hey Karl, what angle do you set your playfield's at before you start adjusting on a per game basis? Do you have a preferred playfield angle for modern stern's? Also, what's a good amount of time to practice pinball every day before you hit diminishing returns? 1 hour? 3 hours? 5?
I never really check what level I'm at. I'll play a game to determine where I feel it should be. Any amount is fine but don't burn out by playing too much. The stopping point is when you start missing everything!
My theory on how travis ended up with zero points is that the trough counted as a switch and on his third switch hit/drain the game counted his ball as in play
Doing the actual game for over half an hour to get 170 million, only for the next ball's bonus to double that score in less than 5 minutes. Just like CSI, where only bonus means anything for scoring.
I watched this whole video last week and from what I remember I had a question: doing certain more multiple times, does it change the progression or at least play different quotes from the same scene?
I didn't have that issue on mine but you need to bend the metal ball guide on the left hand side slightly so it feeds the lane by the pop more reliably.
Hey Karl. Love your videos. Thanks for demonstrating such exceptional pinball play; you're inspiring. For those of us getting started in the hobby, what would you say are the best games to practice on? What top three pins would you suggest as a first pin (preferably from the modern stern lineup)?
If we're only talking about modern LCD Sterns, you can't go wrong with Elwin's games: Jurassic Park to learn shot accuracy skills and strategic decision making. Wide variety of shots, some harder than others, others downright nasty (I'm looking at you, "O" shot!) with an incredible well balanced software package. Iron Maiden for a somewhat more traditional layout where you can learn how to get the ball under control. Drop catching, dead bounces, and even loop passing. Toss up on the 3rd as I think those two would cover enough skills training. Again, you can't go wrong with any Elwin. Don't rule out the game in this video though ;) Outside of Stern, I always go back to Attack From Mars to learn flipper skills. It's a basic fan layout but the shots were designed perfectly for all the flipper skills you'd ever need. It's my #1 pick for new players, but the original and not the remake!
@@IEPinball I'm actually planning a trip to play Labyrinth on location as I don't have one in my area. Ithas looked incredibly fun on all your streams. I was looking of Spike/Spike 2 Sterns, but I'm not ruling anything out. I've played AFM remake, but not the original. I'm surprised there's enough of a difference to suggest the original over the remake. I was looking at Keith Elwin's lineup and I think Avengers seems to be the most undervalued for what it is, but perhaps it's that much weaker. When you say any Elwin, that must include Jaws as well (probably a good game for shot accuracy?). Not an Elwin, but I've found John Wick extremely fun, despite draining quickly and the incomplete code (though I can see the ruleset being too simple for a home game even after 1.0). Also, thanks so much for the reply. It means the world coming from you.
Hello i have a problem in the newest stern machines, when i try to drop catch the ball it get stuck in the top part of the flipper (the part nearest the central hole) instead of sliding towards the bottom of the flipper, and another little problem is that i struggle to microtapping the flippers, it will not catch se signal, can you please help me with this problems? at least the first is the most annoyng, sorry for my bad english, ah! either the magna grab drop the ball too far away from the flipper too Salute from Italy.
Wish companies would make expensive compicated games to develope and manufactur like Jersey Jacks Pirates of the Carribean again. Doubt we'll ever have a table that mechd out for that price ever again.
Hello everyone, can anyone explain to me if it is possible to insert more credits and play only with one player in the new Godzilla and other new sterns? since there is an offer in the machine near my house that with 2 credits you get one free, when I insert the 3 credits however it makes me start the game with 3 players, is there the possibility of inserting more credits playing with only one player? Thanks

Ooooh i love wizard mode challenge videos! Its always reward to get to a wizard mode on your own with no spoilers, but seeing these solidify the process for me. Great video as always!
This was the machine I learned to play pinball on. I really like it, even though its not as good as the other Indiana Jones machine. I love that the captive ball lifts up to become a scoop.
@@harposhi i dont care about theme, how it looks, or how much it has to do. it's all about shots/flow to me. by your logic hobbit would be the greatest game ever but ppl dont talk about it much. they certainly are respectable behemoths in the pinball world, but they just aren't machines that keep people coming back nowadays when you have things like Jaws and Elton coming out.
J'aime beaucoup la maîtrise et la technique. Cela a l'air facile en regardant. J'admire les personnes qui sont naturellement à l'aise avec certains jeux. C'est fascinant.
