Ah yes… vasectomy requests are quite complex with many difficult issues to manage. You will have to ask those who have done 1:1 coaching with me about those!
Is it just me or most people completely missed the point and focused more on the history. The question says assess and manage. You already have the Chest X-ray and MEWS. I think the proper approach will be to approach it like a follow-up station i.e. - Introduction = GRIPS - "I can see here that you were asked to do a chest X-Ray for which we have the results. However, is it okay if i ask a few questions to have a bit more context before we discuss the results? - Brief Focused hx of the cough + Social hx (smoking, occupational exposure) - Discuss results and what they mean + Discuss MEWS - Discuss management plan - Admit, Oxygen, IVF, Broad spectrum antibiotics, Investigations (Baseline & Specialized) - 60 year old man, so ask about Family / Contacts / support system - Review with Seniors - Answer any questions the patient may have. -Thank the patient. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Zero rapport with patient, lack of communication skills and not to mention appalling English. I hope this doctor works on these areas before attempting the exam, more so working in the UK
Apologies for this, at the time I was just starting out with content creation using Airpod Pros which I soon discovered were nowhere near good enough quality. We have since shifted to using a higher quality condenser mic (podcast mic). We will make sure to upload more LGBT content in the coming weeks with the new improved setup, as I know it’s a topic that a lot of people want to learn more about. Be sure to subscribe and hit the notification bell so you don’t miss it! Hashim
Thank you for your kind words. I’m currently uploading daily new videos to my Instagram @drhashimmla so definitely check it out if you want more of my content! Regards Hashim instagram.com/drhashimmla?igsh=anRtZ3Z0cWdodms2&
Corrections: 5:19 - She is still taking the steroids once a day (not once a week) for her Polymyalgia Rheumatica.* 12:17 - In this case, the patient would need to be admitted under the care of the medical team. By stating that you will admit the patient, identifying the need for immediate high-dose steroids and asking the patient to report promptly on the ward any worsening of symptoms (e.g. vision) you should be covered in terms of being safe.**
One line missing from the slide: '3) Introduce self' should say "My name is Dr [Full Name]. I’m one of the junior doctors in X department / the GP surgery. May I know / could you confirm your name?... What would you like me to call you?" Regards, PLAB2Cases
