Six years ago, as an architectural designer, I faced monotonous and repetitive tasks in AutoCAD. Determined to improve, I researched productivity hacks but couldn't use them due to company policies.
This led me to RU-vid, where "LazyArquitecto" was born. Today, we're a community of over 15,000 people with +700 videos.
Use the code below to copy and paste to create your command. If need help let me know. ViewportMask Description: This command helps hide a portion of a viewport by putting another rectangular one on top of it. Note: It only works if there's only one viewport. If there are more, select them, right-click, then choose "display viewport objects" and click "no" before using the command. Also, adjust the masked viewport scale from inside, not with the triangle grips. ~C^C_rec;|wipeout;pil;no;chspace;l;ps;mv;o;1; We have created +40 AutoCAD macros at www.lazyarquitecto.com/lazyprofessionals
Thanks for the step by step instructions. I have to admit, I was getting frustrated with the scales not working but, showing us how to work the problem was very helpful.

Thank You I am in Indonesia I have subscribed to you I was editing my AutoCAD file and I was looking for info and immediately found your content thank you and success always amen ya rabbal aalamin
Nice job! I had the exact same problem today and forgot about creating the acaddoc. Originally, i thought you had to have that lsp placed in the application startup suite. I set my SYSVARMONITOR on with imageframe set to 0 and frame to 0 opening each one, this did not work. Also, tried creating a script file and running it with Lee Mac's auto script (wscript). It would had probably worked if i had saved the path of the script in opions for that file path. Thank you for sharing your great knowledge.
Hey Thank you for your kind words! You are someone I've been keeping an eye on; your questions and comments are always insightful and relevant to my area of expertise. I would love to see you progress further. Would you be interested in having a chat about this?
Hey, sorry for the late response. Of course yes anytime. I'm always interested in discussing CAD. You have proven that you can teach an old dog new tricks :-)
Love this one. But hope you will explain the “diesel” part of the code in detail some time. It works perfectly on AutoCAD full version. I’ll find out tomorrow if it works on LT version😢
Sir, thank you for this tutorial, very useful! I am having one little glitch though, I am not able to get the numbers to start over. I am right now using the AutoCAD 2025 free trial, trying to convince my employer to purchase this full version! Otherwise I use the LT version. Any ideas?
Hey 👋 glad you found this Autocad tutorial helpful. This macro command was tested to work on both versions of Autocad including LT. did you use the useri variable to reset the number?
@@LazyArquitecto Yes, I believe so, I followed your text precisely from your video. I will have to try this also in my LT version as well. Thank you for getting back with me, very much appreciated! I have not been back on AutoCAD of any kind much for over 22 years so other than the basics I am having a difficult time, a little like riding a bike though, you never really forget! Thanks again! I will keep trying!
Your file might be corrupted if so try this to clean it www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCAD-File-Corruption.html also you can try what happens in a brand new empty drawing, does it work there?

Thank you for your comment. My focus in the video was to test whether gptchat can streamline workflows for those who may not have programming skills or just don’t like to waste time.
