Muscle weakness in my back and arms makes practice challenging. It has been hard for me so I have been on and off with practice. I am 72. My why is that I need a creative outlet. I miss playing and the routine of the music world. 🥴😂
I’m 73 and back and shoulder pain limits my playing time. What I’m doing, assuming the muscles are weak, is working out in a gym five days a week. I can’t tell if it’s enough yet, but I seem to have less fatigue. I don’t try to play more than 15 minutes, then I take a break and come back in five or ten after doing some streches. My violin instructor says “don’t try to play through the pain.” Regular massage therapy helps too.
One thing I've realized about some of my students and myself is trying to find a time to practice when we're already in the mindset of doing something. Like maybe after work before you kick back and relax try to bring out the instrument and practice even just for a little bit. Sometimes when I sit down at home after work I no longer have the will to be productive haha. So I need to be productive while I can otherwise it just won't get done
In China, online learning has become very common. The traditional one-on-one teaching method, where a master mentors an apprentice, often results in beginners or young children not necessarily learning the most scientific or accurate techniques due to the varying levels of teacher expertise. Now, through the convenience of online courses, students have the opportunity to learn from renowned teachers at the Central Conservatory of Music, using scientific methods and experienced teaching to help them avoid unnecessary detours. Of course, this also places higher demands on both children and parents. In summary, violin teaching is also evolving with the times, and it's important to adapt to these changes.
Just very wonderful thank you very much 🙏🎻🎶 Greetings from a Classical Tenor Singer-Violist (AGAIN: NOVIOLAJOKESPLEASE🙃🫠😋🤗)-Panpipeflutist -Collègue from 🇪🇺🇩🇪, Black Forest Region, Yours, Josha 🙋♂️
Thank you very much for your kind Information Trailer 🙏 Next month I'm going to travel for a Concert, I am a Classical Tenor Singer-Violist-Panpipeflutist, I perform Classical Piece, traditionelle, but as well do "Alternative Music Compositions", so I could say I am a Composer as well,in the Province/State of 🇪🇺🇩🇪, called"Brandenburg", in the North of Brandenburg and Berlin, with my Instrument: "Viola": NO VIOLA JOKES,AND NO OPERA TENOR JOKES PLEASE ‼️‼️‼️ I KNOW I LIVE DOUBLE IN DANGER (besides Panpipeflute, there I doubt that there are exists Jokes)🙃🫠🤗😋; so I'm going to from my hometown, which is a small City, as well a small Aéroport, to Berlin with an small Aeroplane Aerocraft: ATR 42-500. I called the Airline Travel Agency, I gave them the Info how big the case is, tall 82 cm, wide 28 cm, high 21 cm. It is a "Traditional Formcase à la Violon". They said it is fine of taking it on aboard, and they made a Notice in the Computer File. So I'm not quite worrying the travel from my hometown to BER from ticket desk Employée, cause I really deeply hope/think, there it should be fine, "but" backflight from BER Berlin to my hometown 😬🙏🙏🙏, cause there is the question,if they know the Aeroplane Type ,and if they do care about my concern, cause it is not Staff from that Airline, cause it is a "tiny Airline" a Danish Regional Airline, it is for instance "not" LH Lufthansa, where BER has Employée Stuff of LH. So deeply hope it will work out fine 🙏🙏🙏 Again thank you very much for your kind Information Trailer 🙏 and I wish you all the best with your Performances 🍀🍀🍀🙏 Kind regards from your Classical Tenor Singer-Violist-Panpipeflutist,Collègue from the Three Country Zone-Area 🇪🇺🇩🇪🇨🇵🇨🇭, from Black Forest Region 🇪🇺 🇩🇪= to the US 🇺🇸🎶🎻=for you à la Violon, for me à la Viola;😲=à la Singing for me;🎺 =à la Panpipeflute, not "Trompete", there exists no on the Smileys 🤗🤷, would be a new creation of Smileys 🙃🫠 🎶🍀🍀🍀🙏 Yours Josha 🙋♂️
I'm an adult beginner and recently returned to the violin again after a short break. I was recently encouraged (more like disciplined) by my violin teacher to adopt a conventional and deeper franco-belgian bow-hold. Previously my bow hold was bit more shallow since I held my bow near my first joint of my second and third finger, since that always felt more natural for my hand but wasn't really the 'proper' hold to do more advanced techniques or be consistent for more difficult pieces at my level. But now my bow hold looks closer to the one you demonstrated in your guides and I'm now basically re-learning my open string up & down bows (Not sure if it helps that my teacher made me practice full bows which I still find bit difficult to do consistently). But I think your tip about the emphasis on the thumb and pinky finger together has helped me in finding the flow, and alleviating some/or most of the shakiness I'd get (mainly on the lower half of my bow).
I’m glad you’re getting back into it. Try working on the lower half of the bow then slowly make your way up to a full bow. The lower half is heavier and easier to adjust new technique. Thanks for joining the community!
I have exactly this problem and you'are explaining so well! Yess, please I would like other videos like this, for the pinky but also how to play more relaxed the violin 🙏
I have never learned to try different strings. 😂 I’ve been using classic Dominants for 40 years! lol I have a symphony audition coming up. Is it worth purchasing the Dynamos for that? I don’t play solo for the most part. Just an orchestral player. 😋 I already ordered classics before I found this review.
Great vid Bud I have a question I made my site but how do you add your own copyright thing how you did yours I see powered by Bandzoogle but I dont know how to change that part.
It’s mostly because of two things: the first is height, and second is for comfort. The foam blocks the metal bracket from the chin rest, that seems to be the biggest problem when addressing posture.
Hi Eric, what you say makes so much sense, but we can't see how you are doing it. Your bow hand is not visible on the video.😮 Please can you do a video showing the bow hand, and give a more detailed explanation as to what your fingers, wrist, hand, arm etc are doing. Thanks
