nice however when you rotate the saw you should rotate it onto the stop pin in an anti clockwise direction. that way yoiu are index referencing the tooth that was last sharpened and every tip will end up sharpened evenly ;)
Do you have measurements and templates and hardware for this jig. It looks like a very good jig and you do a very good job of building it. Very skilled craftsman, love this jig.
The design is admirable 👍 it seems the sliding panel and its track are made of hardwood and not plywood. Won't it be hard to slide when wood expands and lose/inaccurate when wood contract
I really love all your well done work. Could you please provide me with an illustration of the technique Lift Mechanism the saw, as well as the dimensions, etc.? It would be a great addition to my small workshop.
Although some components are sufficiently robust, many of them cannot withstand excessive loads, i.e. the sliding part that moves the tailstock is dramatically weak, (and why are the vertical walls inclined? Your resistance to bending will worsen! It's the lever principle!!! make them vertical and add additional ribs!) as well as boards of modest thickness perforated with a diameter very close to their thickness. This weakness could cause the part being worked to detach and cause serious personal injury, but only if the device does not catch fire first: you are using a hand drill, designed for intermittent use in a ventilated environment, in a tiny closed environment and in continuous service . The tailstock adjustment has excessive play, which can cause the workpiece to be unbalanced.... and the centrifugal force will take care of the rest... Do you have any idea that lathes almost always throw detached pieces into your face? I hope no one emulates the construction of the tool as you conceived it: it's dangerous! I'm sorry, but I came across your video by chance, and I can't allow the disclosure of dangerous objects just to earn a few bucks on the platform. People's health is more important. In Italy we have a brain-dead 10-year-old girl in a deep coma after attempting an infamous choking challenge seen on another platform (t*k-t*k). It's time we all take an active part in stopping and countering the dissemination of potentially harmful material.
Very original design. I find the side without the drill to be very long. What is benefits of the micro adjustment being that long? Just trying to reduce the size for easier storage.
It is interesting and unique! However, I think it's a little hazardous, especially both hands are separately active in the process. Not to mention it would be limited only to one size of thickness?
