I’m unable to do this on the console version unfortunately. When I look on the staff search, it won’t let me highlight the key attributes for the type of staff i’m looking for.
I haven't played the console version so I'm not sure what is in that and what isn't but it's a shame they haven't useful things! Hopefully there is a workaround.
@@mrcarrow Hopefully, but regardless, thanks for creating this video! It was still quite useful because I barely even knew how to use the head of recruitment.
good one mate. looking to start a build a nation save. just had my biggest heartbreak in FM. took over warrington town in the vanarama national league north. after 14 in game days, in 2036 they decided to sack me stating i didnt fulfil the promise of playing youngsters, when the team was filled with youngsters and academy products. this happened immediately after winning the playoff final. basically first time in history we reached the PL but i wasnt there to even celebrate the occasion. literally broke my heart into pieces. i completely lost interest in FM. havent opened the game in 2/3 weeks. thought i will try and get back into it. thanks for the video mate :D
My pleasure 👍 Sometimes the club's vision can be cruel I wish they allowed more changes it offers but whenever I try and remove stuff they never allow it! Imagine getting sacked because you didn't score enough corners!
Its unbelievable that you can't just unlock work permits on a bloody video game because of brexit that is so pathetically ridiculous I mean it gives you the option but its locked because you gave to sign 15 players who required permits but your not allowed permits???
This is all well and good, however, if a smaller club with tighter budgets (or even at a bigger club and just like to hoard and develop wonderkids for squad/sales) how do you go about actually getting them a work permit?
You can reapply every 120 days unless you are buying them to loan out or sell I wouldn't recommend signing someone who gets their work permit rejected.
@@mrcarrow Meh, cant you just have a decent league affiliate and loan them out - they then play and rack up minutes and then they're more likely to gain a work permit when you next apply?
It’s kind of basic tip but still useful to increase team cohesion, team cohesion makes your team actually work as a team and if it’s low regardless of your teams morale, tactics, or quality of your players, there’s a chance your games might not go the way you like. if your team cohesion is already high than it might not be that important
It;s meant to, but it doesn't work. Statistically proven to make almost no difference. (Evidence Based Football Manager 2023). Rest is better. Double rest is best. So you clear a day of training, then instruct the entire team to rest for one day. @@tonediary83
@@swailesy1990 No not really. EBFM showed it has minimal impact on injury rates. The hidden stat "injury proneness" is what controls injuries. A player with high values in that stat is still going to get injured a lot whatever you set your training too. You are far better off using rest as opposed to recovery when looking at the overall impact on your team performance in games and development. Players that rest more develop faster than those using recovery sessions.
another good video, iv been playing fm for about 10 years an have barely ever touched training, i didnt even know this was possible, i just used to add them to the first team an then make them availliable for the u21s or u18s ect which is way more time consuming. cheers
really appreciate these simple short tips videos mate, some of the big name streamers waffle on so long before getting to the point. enjoying your content pal, keep it up 😊
Real life rotation is sometimes forced due to injuries and other circumstances like youth development, in FM it seems forced at all times for a busy squad, that applies to the AI as well. As time progressed in my game (I am in 2049) no one virtually plays above 30 PL games a season, checked all teams and it was even lower for those players who are regularly on internationals. There is a lot more "forced" rotation in FM than in real life which of course predominantly affects CL teams. The other problem is playtime, there are ways to manage this but my squad is often rotated based on playtime needs and not so much tactical needs, once again, the AI is also affected by this. Simulating seems to bypass some of the playtime issues, how? ... I don´t know. Not a big deal in the long run, I have just adjusted and learned how to cope with it. It is annoying at times though, it affects the AI negatively a lot more than it does my team, they are not good at replacing jaded and injured players. All this isn´t a problem for teams who usually only play once a week.
Dont you think you have to many training sessions during intense weeks or do you aways pull down the intensity in Rest screen. Do you have a red-pressing tactics as almost anyone on youtube has ?
@@d-law868 Don´t think I am being harsh on the players physically, as I wrote it effects the whole Premier League, not just my team. Getting more than 30 games for any player is rare, the AI suffers more than I do as they seem to lack the ability to rotate properly, especially when it comes to those on international duties. But a lot of things have changed in 2050, sponsorships are down by half for most top sides including mine, wages are way down and big transfers simply don´t happen, all good players stay at their clubs or leave upon contract expiry. There hasn´t been a transfer above 90 million in 15 seasons and most good players are valued by their clubs above 200 million. Arab clubs also ran out of money, they are interested in everyone I have but never buy.
I'm doing a Burnley save at the moment. I''m in my third season, I finished 6th last year and got europa league football. I'm currently spending 1.6m on wages per week which is the 15th highest in the entire league yet I am losing money every month despite playing in europe and currently being 6th in the league in january. Is there anything I can do?
This is hard because I would assume you have grown at speed where your revenue has not caught up with your expenditure. One thing you could look at if we are Purely looking at wages is to see if there are any players you can renew but maybe take out some of the bonuses. Other than that I would be looking to see what revenue I can bring in and although you have little control over it you could look at things like expanding the stadium etc. I'd be interested to see what your projection is over the next couple of years I'd assume you will start to see growth so it maybe a cause of funding the short term with player sales etc
I'd never clicked on that tab, but that is useful. Cheers. Have you done a vid on what the different staff do and when that might be useful? What difference does a performance analyst, for eg, actually make to you if you are in lower league, say. When are they worth shelling out for?
That's a good shout. Easy just to assume they are going to honor the playing time. I would also suggest making sure you have a recall in there just in case.
Just go to "General" and then "Rating" to choose minimum required stars and include a column that shows their rating and work down the list from highest rating to lowest.
@@mrcarrow long term I’ve had statistically worse coaches that have done better work as they’ve had excellent personalities! This game - always out to get us!
Subscribed! Can you also please teach on how to choose the training coach? Is it better to prefer Motivating rather than Level of Discipline for a Fitness Coach, etc etc?
Watch the space for a video on this but for now: You can see what attributes are needed for each coach role by going to staff page then < select staff role < click highlight key attributes for role < select role Once you do this you can see what attributes are needed for each role e.g. fitness coach would need motivation and determination. Now for these I personally just choose staff with the best that I can get for my team but ideally you would want a coach to have at least 10 for each.
When it comes to coaches does their preferred formation matter ? Like I play with a 433 and must the coach also have the same formation or does that not matter ?
I have never worried about this personally. The only time I could see this being a big issue is if you leave a coach in charge of a game while you go on holiday.
I have just started a new save (Scunthorpe United) and my players are performing very well with no added instructions at all. I have no reason to add any. I normally add far too many most of the time.
Yes, that is annoying for sure, I always try and convince good new gens to accept long contracts from the off. At least then you are in a strong position if they take off.
Yeah, I play as a Romanian team and made it from the 3rd to the 1st division in 2 years, and I asked for a Parent Club and choosed Real Sociedad, but they don't loan any players from them.
You have to be careful when choosing your parent club. If you are managing a team in what would be seen in a lesser league you will struggle to get top teams to loan their players to you regardless if they agree to be your parent club. My advice would be to choose a smaller team from the options available because they are more likely to see value in loaning you players. I managed in Bulgaria and I had Monaco as my parent club and I was able to get players. The other thing I would recommend is to try and loan the squad importance of any loan signing to a squad player or less as it will buy you some time if you can't fit them in your team
i also look at first-team games played, for example a 21 year old who hasnt played a single match in his club and will be a starter for me is very likely to develop a lot. on the other hand a 18 year old who already played 2 full seasons for his first team is probably not gonna develop as fast as the 21 year old.
Yeah that is true, for me gametime is key In the end. If I can get players with potential in cheap wages I will pick them up to loan them out to see if they can make it. I'm not often a team blessed with enough money to invest in players who aren't slotting into the first team.
Thanks for the information, I have a question: How long did it take for you to get a second senior affiliate? Were you able to get one across multiple saves? I am managing a third division club in Germany and first had Borussia Dortmund as a senior affiliate which didnt loan out any players, as they wanted to see their players play in a better team than mine. I asked for a second senior affiliate multiple times (with the board agreeing every time) but after a couple of days the board returned and said, that no possible affiliate could be found. I have now kicked Dortmund out, searched again and now the board found options (and I took Gladbach this time, who are willing to loan). Is it rare to get a second affiliate, is it down to the specific league/nation you are in? Would be happy to read your answer
There is no easy answer to that, certainly with that save it was because my board support was so strong they said yes to anything like that. The biggest advice I can give when you are presented with a few options of teams is to look at each team and see who they have in the reserve/youth team and try and make a judgement if they are worthwhile. In my experience it is not always best to select the top teams even if the fees are bigger
