Can you help me with tips to be able to dash cancel combos, and the jump cancels. I'm struggling with the time to cancel one move with another using dash, and with these air combos
I play on an arcade stick personally, but I've used every type of peripheral out there. Hitbox is a good option if you are used to playing fighting games with a keyboard. If you've only ever played games on a pad, there will be a learning curve for either one. The reason I like a stick the best is because if I ever go to an arcade or see an arcade machine out in the wild I know I will be able to perform just fine on it. At the end of the day, it's an investment and you have to be willing to put in the time to get good at using it. If you go with an arcade stick I recommend something with Sanwa parts for someone just getting started, and then maybe down the line if you like it you might want to try out different parts to find what feels best to you as there are lots of options for customization. Now with all that being said, hitbox is actually more advantageous to play on 😅
@@ThatDudeSmokeI really appreciate the reply! Yeah I am comfortable with a fightstick. I’ve played with them before (square gate), and have of course plenty of hours logged in at arcades, being 39 years old lol. The reason I asked is because It is a expensive to get a decent stick or hitbox, and if you can optimally play COTA specifically with just say a PS5 pad, I’d stick with that. But, I noticed, moves (not that this is a big deal) Omega Reds Taunt input, requires 5 buttons to be pressed at the same time, correct? Or hitting all 3 kick or punch buttons.
@@AdrenalinePvP yeah sticks can be pretty pricey unfortunately. I don't actually play this game, but you could 100% play this game on pad if you wanted to. You definitely don't need to go out and buy a different controller, you should only do that if you really want one. Pad is for sure annoying to hold buttons down unless you use a custom config, with that being said I checked the SuperCombo wiki page and Omega Red's taunt is just a sequence of inputs. Those being MK > LP > Down > LK > MP no need to hold anything.
@@ThatDudeSmokeoh you are right, I over looked that. I could have sworn it was a press all buttons at the same time Input ty. Yeah so the only character I’d have to play with a arcade stick or hitbox, is playing Juri in SSF4. Since you hold all 3 of her kick buttons in combos. I don’t know how anyone could play her optimally without a stick or hitbox, but who knows. I will try to play COTA with the PS5 dpad, and see how it goes. The inputs don’t seem like I’ll have to have a fightstick. Again ty for the replies, I appreciate it!
@@ThatDudeSmoke You were definitely right about being able to play the game with a pad. Even with the PS5 dpad its fine. I haven't had a situation where I felt like if I had a fightstick it would have made it easier. The game is easier to play with a dpad than SF Alpha 3 imo. The game however is going to take awhile to learn. Doing 5 hit combos and what not is really simple, but air juggling in a corner is harder than it looks in X-Men COTA. I wish there were high level combo guides for the game. The one written combo guide I found teaches people how to do really basic entry level combos. The more I research X-Men COTA, the more realize, there is really not that many people that play this game (that id consider good anyway).
A few notes before you use it, it has no bordwipes so you may want to add something like Sunfall or No Witnesses to clear the board. Another option is The Eternal Wanderer the -4 can be a game changer since you pick the two creatures that stay on the board. This deck could for sure be improved upon but it's good enoough to beat most of what people play in Alchemy, have fun! Hey man! Yeah I use an arcade stick to play, however I actually did this combo with analog on an Xbox controller (thought I would give it a try). If I were to recommend an arcade stick my personal choice would be the Etokki Omni Korean Edition it uses the Taeyoung Fanta and is a rubber grommet based lever, it is a very tight lever and is used by lots of professionals in various games, primarily seen being used in Tekken since it is really good with diagonal inputs, the only downside I have had so far is my levers lube has dried up and just needs a new application; another really good arcade stick I use is the Madcatz TE2 it uses the Sanwa JLF and is a spring based lever and a staple found in the FGC most commonly used by Street Fighter players. I will say in the end it is all personal preference and that the peripheral you play on should be one that you are comfortable with, just because so and so is really good with a hitbox and they have insane execution doesn't mean you will have just as easy a time as them and you may not even like the thing in the first place. Learning a peripheral you have never played on requires lots of dedication and it shouldn't be approached as something that will be easy, anyways I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
When you kustomize a kharacter go to the tab where you select moves, then select preset variations and use his first variation with a trophy beside it. Then once you pick him in training or in a match the laugh taunt input is done by pressing down, back + stance change
At the time this combo was made BBA only uses 1 bar of meter. But I don't know how much it costs in the current build, Balthazar said that they would be making some changes to Majin Vegeta because of this. Also I did this combo in training mode but it would have been possible in a real match. (I believe the build used in this video was 4.2)
