If you're eating chocolate, you're eating sugar (read the nutrition label). Coconut is very high in saturated fat; I avoid it in all forms. Nuts also have saturated fat, but also good fats (our bodies need some fat, just not saturated fat). I've lost more than 20 pounds in five months by greatly reducing saturated fat, processed white sugar, processed foods, oils, and white processed flour from my diet. For a sweetener, I've settled on monk fruit. It looks like brown sugar, but has zero calories. Monk fruit has no after-taste like stevia. I just discovered monk fruit within the last two weeks. Check it out for healthiness. I bought my monk fruit from Amazon. I went with the one that was the least amount of money per ounce and had multiple good reviews. I would cut out the coconut from this recipe, and I would greatly reduce the nuts. The nutsforlife.com website suggests 30 grams (approximately a handful) of nuts per day. Too many nuts might lead to weight gain. Avoid salted nuts altogether.
