That has to be the stealthiest fire truck I have ever seen. Even that Surf Style road sign was brighter than the truck's paint. I'm getting a "former SWAT team" vibe looking at this. lol
Pinellas county is made up several individual fire districts and Pinellas county uses closest unit response. The white trucks in this video were a mix of palm harbor fire and Dunedin Fire
Looks like the tow truck driver stopped to help as well. Don't count those guys out, they might not respond 1st but they are just as much responders as 1st responders.
What a bizarre apparatus and what a strange place for it to be. Typically an ARFF truck from the much closer St Pete Clearwater airport would respond as mutual aid. Maybe it already had and more resources were thought to be needed. Or maybe there was a reason they couldn't go off airport at that particular moment and thus mutual aid all the way from Tampa was called in. Anyone know what actually happened at this incident? Was an ARFF unit also called in and did the Tampa foam units actually engage or did they end up only on stand by?
Tampa ended up handling all fuel offloading from the tanker. Clearwater requested PIE’s ARFF units but they were told they can’t leave airport property
Curious about the protocol and role of airport police at an off airport incident. I assume they escorted the ARFF truck to and from the scene but what other role do they have once out of jurisdiction? Anyone know?
the airport police are usually just a substation from the county or city the airport is in. If it is an international airport, you might have federal agencies with a field office there too. I would expect they have jurisdiction unless proved otherwise, it saves one from lead poisoning correction surgery.
That was a Great scene with the Gatlinburg Fire Department Engine responding. Gatlinburg is a Totally Awesome and Amazing place and a Beautiful place. Totally Awesome video.
