I love EDH and want to help the competitive part in the Community to grow. Many people play EDH with a casual mind set. I play it with the competitive mind set. And that is also what this channel dose. And I wanna show you casual players the great game competativ EDH is.

Godo is FAR from dead. I've been arguing that Godo would get better from a Dockside ban for years. Its counterintuitive, but true. Crypt is the one that stings a bit, dockside and lotus are fine.
@cedhtv yes but it can still abuse cloudstone and with animars reduction the cloud of faeries and perigan drakes of the world are still just as playable. Rog thrass was already doing cloudstone and cloud of faeries but needed dockside, whereas i dont think animar does.
I disagree with winota for the same reason you guys felt ob nixilis would get worse. Without winota the deck is just bad. Turboing winota out just got substantially harder without j lotus and crypt. and makes a turn 1 winota almost impossible. I guess it enjoys a slower format but at the same time, the reason she could snowball so much in the turn 3-4 range is because turn 1-2 winota was a priority.
There is a knock on effect that slows the game down even more. Often when wins are turn 1,2 or sometimes 3 players have been incentivized to tap out to develop their board. This means many games were won with interaction in hand just no mana to use it. With most games not having their first win attempt until turn 3 or later I think players will be more likely to have the open mama as you can afford to hold up mama as the game goes later. I’d argue the first win gets stopped significantly more often which is a big hit to turbo where they often have something like unprotected adnaus. Also there is more time for stax to come into play which is say adds more turns. So theoretical one turn loss will likely snowball into much longer games
I think Magda will still do surprisingly well- Playing Magda is more about treasure tokens than about having lots of mana...and dockside was not the only way for Magda to get the treasure-engine going. I feel like w/ my experience playing Magda over this last summer, the deck should be able to do what it has been doing just fine...just a little slower- and the big question to me now is how much slower does everybody else have to play? Also from experience w/ Magda, having other players suddenly play dockside on their turn would put me in an awkward position of wanting to sac my treasure tokens so they would get less effect from their dockside etb...also in playing this last summer I only got to cast my own dockside in a game once, lol. For Magda, everybody else losing access to dockside is actually a net win. I'm probably going to replace the 3 cards w/ Mind Stone, Bucknard's Everful Purse, and Jeska's Will or a utility land card...all cards that have been in the list at some point or another already and I think I'll be good to go...
We need our own format and committee. They are going to keep banning anything that speeds up play or puts casual at a disadvantage. I'm not sure how much clearer RC needs to be on this. They want us out of casual
I would have determined what was still the best commander and then used that as a reference point for the other commander on whether they got better or worse
This recent ban list is like taking away everyone's knives away and now everyone is brawling fist fights. Bad news, you can't stab anyone, good news, you don't have to worry about getting stabbed anymore.
So what I'm getting is cEDH (insert commander here) got worse = yes. I'm probably on the minority on this but I don't like Thassa's Oracle as the universal win condition. I'd still like to see it banned as well.
@13:50 what did he say is "my favorite land when it works and thats _____" I listened to this clip like 20 times and I cant for the life figure out what land he's talking about. I don't know any land that sounds anything like what he said, I tried looking for lands that "enter tapped and tap for 2 mana next turn" and I've got nothing. It sounds like he's saying Peak's Borgy? I'm at a complete loss but I have no idea what card he's talking about and I really want to know what it is.
@@sPontus THANK YOU! Sorry for not understanding, I think the more I tried to rewind and listen again the more confused I got about what I was hearing. How do you feel about Crystal Vein? I don’t love that it’s colorless but the fact that you get to choose when to pop it makes me want to try it over City of Traitors? I’m surprised I’ve never seen anyone talk about this card
@@MOSTLYxTOAST np Colorless is a huge cost and only making 2 once is a lot worse than twice like traitors. It's not bad but unless in lower colours or a deck that motivates it in some way usually not really worth
Inalla loses a lot with the dockside ban. We had 2 A+B where A was Dockside. one was with ruthless technomancer and the other was with Aether Channeler.
