I am really conflicted about this shoe, and I only run in New Balance. Jokingly, I have commented the V3 is the offspring of my SC Trainer V2's, 1080 V13 & Rebel V4's having a ménage à trois at a marathon major. I have to replace my SC Trainer V2's, which are quickly wearing down (left foot under ring finger toe), puts it mildly. In my 42-43+ years running, I never had a sole wear so quickly. The V2 works great for me, but dayum, that sole wear! And, I am 63" and 110lbs. After trying on a pair, I can see the V3 sole is closer to my two pairs of Rebel V4's (they don't have the wearing issue). But, the design change issue on the V3 I have is with narrowing of the toe box and the upper. It's almost as if NB decided it would be a 1080 V13 above sole. The foam is DEFINITELY stiffer than the V2. This is why I am leaning towards the SC Pacer V2. Yeah, yeah, I know it's $200.
@@realDougSheppard you’re right, I’m just not sold on it. I think the Rebel , pacer are better options. But I will say don’t sleep on the ASICS superblast, I’ll just say… like butta
Hi James, i've discovered your channel now. I'm 37yo and i've stopped working out in 2016. now after 8 years i've started in march 2024 to workout again and i've discovered crossfit which i love. i always asked myself how people like you reach those levels. it incredible to think that you guys was beginners too at some point. next year i'll do some spartan and hyrox races. do you have any advice for me? i know that i'm a little bit too old to start now, but better now than never i guess
You’re never too old to start. My number 1 suggestion would be to start easy and progress a little each month . Don’t do too much too quickly, the best results come from consistent efforts over an extended period of time. Run easy 3-4 times a week, hit the weights once or twice a week, and try to do one pretty intense effort every week. Do this and you’ll be crushing OCR and HYROX courses before you know it. Thanks for watching and let us know how you progress.
@@RunningwithJames thank you for the advices. Between family with 2 kids and work it's hard to do a lot of workout and with crossfit i already do high intensity training 3/4 times per weeke. I guess i have to start to add running too. Anyway thank you again for the reply and your support, i hope to achieve something I can be proud of in 2025
my right foot is 26.6 cm to the longest toe(2nd toe) and left is 27 cm with average foot width 10.4 cm I wear Nike and brooks usually in size US 10 with a thumb or slightly more space at front. Brooks glycerin 21 size US 10 Wide 2E almost fits good but slightly narrow in the midfoot now I have ordered online new balance rebel v4 and 1080v13 in size US 10 and width 2E both. Will they fit for me or not just wanted to ask because as according to chart my size exactly is US9 but in running shoes I heard to size half or full size up?
I usually wear a us 10.5 and ordered a 10.5. In my opinion they fit true to size. I found them to have ample width, so if you usually order a wide size then that's what I would go with. Hope this helps.
The heavy carry obstacles usually don't make people do burpees. Unless you're doing the Palmerton Spartan. They had so many people quit during the sand bag carry, they ran out of bags.
Rules have changed in the last few years. But Spartan had the option of burpees in Lee of tire flips and Carrie’s if it was too much. The main point is that they are not so challenging that they should be a concern. So focus your training on what challenges you the most.
Never owned a Super Shoe before. Got these on sale...a Rarity I know. Man these things are crazy light and the turn overs are fast... Almost unfair with all these Carbon Plated Racing shoes. But that doesn't mean you disregard your fitness. Cloud boom Echo. Pretty much an F-18 hitting the Sonic Boom.. and it can be heard for miles. That's the metaphor/analogy for these shoes.
I find you can move forward faster if you drop the rope, but give both techniques a try in training and see what works best for you. Thanks for watching!
@RunningwithJames Thank you!! Just this week I was actually shocked to find that just sitting low in a squat , leaning over and pulling back on the rope without taking any steps back at all, Worked better for me!! Hope it works for race day!
@@RunningwithJames Hi! Im reporting back..lol..I freaking loved the Hyrox first off...that rope pull turned out surprisingly EASY..what the heck...I ripped though it mostly hand over hand..stepped back a few times..but I was amazed how light it felt..Next race will be even better..:) hooked
In my experience the opposite hand grip is always safer, especially if the bars are muddy or wet. The key is to get your momentum moving forward. The longer you’re on the bars , and the more you try to power through, the harder the obstacles.
i bought the adios pro 3 online . and the seller recommend to take 0.5 bigger then the ADIZERO SL . need to wait for trying the shoes first ermm @@RunningwithJames
Awesome review! I've been on the hunt for a 5k racer with good energy return without a massive amount of cushioning and "rocking." Just got a pair and loving them!
I brought this shoe myself,it does feel stiff iabit iv only ran twice in the , you say after abit more wear they are way Comforttable? , I plan to do 100 miles In them acorss snowdina, u think they are great shoe to do that as well for comfort?, im gonna try wear into them. Abit more
They are a great shoe, but I wouldn’t take them that far, so many better options. In my opinion, the speedland GS is the perfect trail shoe for that distance, but crazy expensive. Another option that I would choose over the VJ is the ASICS trabuco max
Finally a set of cool bruddahs reviewing hyrox kicks that aren’t jockin’ the endorphin pro 3s. I used em last November in men’s pro and enjoyed the ride, but the shoe is ugly. Appreciate this review fellas! Going either with the onclouds or takumi’s
Speedland now has the "updated" PDX as the PDX is now discontinued: The HSV has received several updates over the PDX: 1. New sticky Michelin compound for wet rock 2. Anodized aluminum Li2 BOA dials 3. Gaiter compatibility 4. More durable Carbitex plate 5. New black colorway with Liz Canty specific graphic details
Thank You for this video. I have the Saucony but the high foam and carbon plate make me less stable on the broad jump landing for the bbj. Do you have any similar issues with the shoes mentioned?
Most of these have a lower stack height, so definitely more stable. The highest most unstable would be the Adios Pro 3. The takumi Sen is the lowest overall, and I would Say the Puma is the most stable.
I was on the crew team in college. Best shape of my life. When young, it's easy to compensate by using the back. I don't remember my coach even mentioning or teaching hip hinge. But now, older, I have had back injury and low back degeneration issues. So, I had to re-educate myself on proper form to continue rowing. The hip hinge and neutral back is great and protects the back from injury. Thanks for posting this video!@@RunningwithJames
