Hi Ekaterina, we can say I hope to go to university or I'm hoping to go to university. Both are possible, but if you say 'I hope...' it suggests 'someday' further in the future. If you say 'I'm hoping' it's more immediate and suggests that you are doing things now to make it happen. In general, in conversation like this where we're talking about our current plans and ambitions, 'I'm hoping' is more common.

Speaking tests are often a bit like that Chocobnn - especially ones like Cambrige First where you may be paired with someone you've never met before. Candidates are nervous, they may be a little shy - it's normal!
