Cool. Note: I see these filters offered optionally in 310S stainless steel *or* FeCrAl alloy. I wonder whether the aluminum in the latter composition would risk galvanic corrosion with the brass. Hopefully the sellers don't ship the wrong version. Can't use a magnet to check for the steel version since 310S is non-magnetic. Any other handy way to check?
@mysony98
@mysony98 5 месяцев назад
I think you dont need to see that so heavy. If the entire device would be made out of copper and the mesh out of aluminium, then yeah after a few days you would see the result 😂 I dont know the distance between brass and aluminium regarding the voltage potential, but it should be in some books. FeCrAi, Iron, Chrome, Aluminium Hmmm... Strange situation; i dont know a way to check it too but i think you can just try it with a strong magnet because the FeCrAi alloy is maybe a little bit magnetic. But the Ai part of the alloy is not that big (maybe just a few percent?) I would observe it time by time if there is happening any reaction. But if your cooker is always dry then i think it will take a long time to see anything
@hevosmies2
@hevosmies2 3 месяца назад
According to chatgpt 310s is more likely to cause galvanic corrosion on brass. However using a small piece of original pad as insulator between brass burner and metal pad would minimize direct contact between these 2 materials.

Hi, I will buy another one. Cause i have to. Going on a 6 week trip through Armenia. Wich one do you recommend. The Omnifuel 2 or the Omnifuel TI ? The problem i also had was that the flame stopper constantly sprung away once it got hot. And no way to seat it well. So annoying. I do not care about if some water takes an extra minute longer to boil. Now with the Omnifuel 2 it is fixed with a spring. With the TI version it is not. But atleast when this also becomes a problem i could buy a TI silencer. Althour i do not care if it is being loud. Then i know it is still burning and you can guess the level of the burn. With the TI is that weak spot on the tube gone ?
@mysony98
@mysony98 Год назад
The Omnilite ti has a reduced weight and and power, its for 1-2 persons. But its price is high, much higher than in 2020. The flamestopper of it is locked too, look exactly at some photos of the stove. Normaly the stopper should not jump away. to be honest i woundered until now why there is a spring 😂 You can bend the ends of the flamestopper a little bit, that prevents it from jumping away and makes it more stable. I never made the experience that the stopper is able to jump away, i didnt even know that this is a problem 😂 I bought the Omnifuel 2 because it has a higher power and a lower price than the Omnilite ti. But to be honest sometimes i really think about how it would be to have the Omnilite ti now here. What do you mean with the weak spot at the tube? Do you mean the connection between the tube and the part which you can screw at the pump? I didnt have a problem with this part yet for luck, but i have read about many buyers who loses petrol in this weak connection. Primus as a company definitly could be better. I dont like Primus very much, but i bought me the omnifuel and not the Optimus optifuel from catadyn because Primus have much replacement parts

That aside, i think even if you find a way to contact him, the shipping costs could be high because brexit. Maybe you can look at some outdoor stores or some cheap used Camping Gas burners which have the same essay who fits on the Omnifuel. Note: I dont know exactly why Primus named the Model Omnifuel 2. The only old Model if found is the Primus Multifuel 3. Maybe thats the old model? Or maybe Primus has made "silent" upgrades on his Omnifuel one time

You can compare it with a normal gas stove. The boil time should be identical. Had the first one for almost 15 years or so. Fucking expensive and constant leaking. Got the pump replaced under warranty but the new one did leak also. But by then i could stick it where the sun does not shine. Due to the leaking it was sometimes very dangerous to use. Had to constantly watch it so i could immendiatly intervene. But one time the whole bottle start to burn with the pump. Had to let it burn cause it was to dangerous to get close. It did not explode but it was completely melted beyond use. I wish i could get another pump for it. Although the burner itself also has some designflaws itself. When the flamedispersor is getting hotter it will act as a spring and jumps from the burner. Is this V2 any better then the V1 ? Or is it more V1.01 ? It is a far to expenisive burner for all the troubles it gave me. Cause sometimes i really had to rely on it. And it failed 90 percent of the time.

Primus has many stoves. The older generation was called "Multifuel". This one had some mistakes. The newer one is the Omnifuel, the newest is the Omnilite ti. Until now, i had no mistakes with the Omnifuel, but one weak part is the tube who connects the pump with the burner. At the first end of the metal tube is a weak spot. In many cases it leaks there. And primus is not able to fix this problem and release a new tube for a good price, next to the bad customer support. In my case, i dont have a leak there yet and no other problems. Iam happy with the stove. One bad point is the burner mesh. But i dont buy other stuff from primus, because this company needs a transformation. The prices are too high, and the quality is not very good, if you look on the price. 150€ for the Omnifuel would be good. And the delivered bag for the Omnifuel is too big and too heavy.

@@keesverhagen9227 I disassembled the complete stove and checked out every single sealing ring and part after i got the stove. Everything looks fine and works. what should i say... every part matches perfect together and works fine.. I just put a different type of fat to the sealing rings. I also heard that the old pumps were not sealed very good. You had to replace the pump at the beginning, using warranty so often until you get a good one. But if you had your stove for 15 years... That time is normal. I think after that time everybody buys a new stove or some replacement parts. The sealing rings get hard after so many years. And with different types of fuel, that process is faster. Its possible that primus made some parts better over the years.
