@@EzraSwannellFishing Unfortunately, no I can’t explain it. I was keen to look back at my footage when I got home to see how I did it, but I personally couldn’t see how I was at fault. I had footage leading right upto that incident but I didn’t bother adding it to the video. My rod is out of warranty now so I didn’t worry about trying for a claim. I have 3 sk rods and they all have caught me plenty of fish. They are good rods, you can feel plenty of vibration through the stick but you have to be super carful with the tips as they all have very fine tips. Definitely would recommend trying the sk range but treat with care 👍 Thanks for watching.
@@craigtsadventures7414 thanks for the info, I don’t think I’ll buy it. I have an infeet s, they seem a bit more hardy. I’m only 13, $300 plus on a rod would hurt if I snapped it.
@@yep.fishing Gday Jacob. Thanks for the tip mate. I will definitely give that section of the river a go. I definitely won’t be taken the tinny back down there again in a hurry. Your hobby or kayak would make it down there no worries. Thanks for watching mate. I have been a long term subscriber of yours 👍
@@yep.fishing Hopefully you enjoy mate. I have just started making fishing videos. Always mainly did camping or travelling videos. It’s all a bit of fun. Hopefully I will make a few more of down the track.
Thanks Peter. It was certainly a challenge at the time. Now that I am home and nice and warm and dry, i can look back and certainly say I am glad I did it. If I can give any advice or if I were to do it again I probably would use my kayak instead of my heavy canoe It would be much easier to carry over all the debris I also would leave it a little later for when the water is flowing a bit better. Cheers and thanks for the kind words and for watching 👍😀
Gday Mick. Yeah, almost made it mate. The mouth was only a 1/2 km from where I started fishing below the bridge. It’s been a very dry autumn/winter season this year and nearly and all the mouths from Warrnambool to the south Australian border have been blocked at some stage due to lack of water flow. The Merri mouth was open but still had a heap of sand deposits not far from the bridge hence why I couldn’t quite make it to the mouth. Say gday to all and hope everyone is doing well 👍
I always thought the railway bridge still went over the water, looks like it from the highway, nice to see it from that side as I've always wanted to see it up closer
Hello Nora. This certainly supports your dometic fridge.. In most stores, I believe the new dometic fridge comes with standard 12v and 240v cable. There is connection points for both 12v and 240v on the powerhub unit that will enable power to be supplied to your fridge. BCF also sell dometic cables with Anderson plug connectors mounted on the end of the cables. I highly recommend getting one of these as Anderson plugs have a nice secure fitting. Your standard 12 volt connector can often work loose when commuting. There is also an Anderson plug connection socket mounted to the powerhub unit. The dometic fridge roughly draws 40 - 50 watts out of your battery when running. The powerhub unit has the capacity to draw upto 300 watts, So your fringe will have no problems running from this unit. As for how long it will run, we’ll that will depend on your battery. I recommend getting a deep cycle battery. I can’t give you an exact time but with a deep cycle battery you should roughly get 12 to 18 hrs before it will need to be re changed. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 😀👍
Ah shit! Thanks for letting me know. I had no idea. I have been tooted a couple of times over the past month that may explain why. 😂. In my old Ute the clicker for the indicator used to click quicker when a globe was out, the newer utes must not do it.
Ahh Ok, thanks for the tip Random. My father in-law and I went on the hoppies last week and caught 6 bream, Cher all back except 1 30cm. We were Mainly using glassies & shrimp. I flicked some lures However no good with the lures. I will have to find a good Dam and I might fit in yabbie video this summer Hopefully will fit in before the warmer weather disappears. Thanks for watching 👍
Ahhhh the famous bridge.....my mate fell in there one morning at the crack of dawn before he even had a cast. Had his phone etc on him too. Seen Aus Life Andy's video from this bridge?
I'm mad keen to try this spot now, I might try land based first and if not bring a blow up boat. If I was you I would of been casting into the edges of those reeds rather than away from them. But maybe the wind was stuffing you around
Thanks for the tip. It certainly did get quiet windy and that canoe in the wind is quite tricky to manoeuvre. At the start of the day when there was no wind I was casting towards the banks. But when the wind picked up it blew me straight to the edge. You can get boats in there at the moment so you would be able to anchor up and cast into the reeds.
Bro, I live very close to this and haven't fished it! I went there for a look 6 months ago but must have taken the wrong turnoff or something. Are you local?
Hey! Yeah, Sorta local. If you find the main entrance of the lake gillear Motor bike track entrance, all you need to do is turn left at that main entrance and follow that track around until you see the lake on your right hand side. It’s only a small lake normally but with all the rain we have had it has recently been flooded.
@@yep.fishing When you find it you will see where where people launch there boat. . The day I went fishing there was a guy was fishing of the bank right beside where they launch the boats and He caught 5 small Redfin using scrub worms with a running sinker. So you can definitely fishi of the bank and it’s not private property so you will be all sweet to fish there.
Hello Malcolm I have a good quality cable running from my main battery under the bonnet to the back of my Jack off canopy. I have a 25 amp red arc dc to dc charger attached to the power hub power pack. I have done a short review on the power pack. I plug my fridge into this unit when driving which runs fridge. The Alternator chargers battery in power pack when driving. Alternative when stationary I could apply solar panels to power hub and run fridge as well. My 12 bot system is very basic and my power hub power may be becoming a bit out dated but it still powers the essentials. Fridge, 12 volt lights and chargers camera gear. 😀👍
Hey Hayden Thanks mate. Certainly lucky enough to get on to some good sized reddies that day. I caught these at lake gillear down in southern western Victoria. Thanks for watching. 👍
@@craigtsadventures7414 Definitely mate, what's your PB Redfin? Thanks mate! Is it fished often? I wouldn't mind going there for a flick one time. I live in Ballarat but I dive for Crays and spearfish in Port Fairy area. Might make that little extra drive and fish it
@@HaydenWilsonOutdoors Never really chased Redfin before, mainly fished estuary for mulloway & bream and Murray darling river chasing cod & golden perch. I have been chasing trout lately in the merri river but to no avail as yet. My PB for Redfin was what I caught in this vid 38cm. If you are down this way it maybe worth a try. A guy was there the same day I was and caught about 10. All quiet small though. He was using scrub worms and a running sinker.
Thanks for the video! Just a question, when you turn on the inverter does the inverter button get warm? I just brought one and the inverter button on mine gets quite warm so I’m just trying to figure out if that is normal or if mine is faulty.
Gday Steve! I am far from an expert when it comes to fishing too mate, but it’s always nice to get out about amongst the fresh weather it’s doing some fishing or camping. As always mate Thankyou for watching 😀👍
This section of the river certainly had some weeds on it which was a bit of a shame. All that weed is gone out of the river now. It must only appear certain times of the year. 😀👍
I am thinking of launching at Darlington. Last week I went for a drive and checked out all the Mt emu creek bridges between Panmure and Terang. From the bridges the creek looks permeable. One thing I have learned though is bridges can present with good wholes but when you head a little further down the river, it can be a whole different story. 😂
Thank you Graham. There was certainly challenging sections throughout out the Canoe trip but all in all I really enjoyed the serenity of this trip. Thanks for watching. 😀👍
Thankyou Evelyn. I paddled a total of 21 kms. My put site was at the Woodford bridge. Unfortunately there’s a lot of twists and turns when in the river so there certainly is extra added kms from point A to point B. Thanks for watching 😀
Only one thing wrong wit this video Craig, you broke your rod so no footage of a couple of nice big bream when you hit the salt water MATE, TAKE A SPARE ROD NEXT TIME.
Excellent work Craig T! Looks like the 2nd half was tougher than the 1st. Salvinia is a common invasive floating weed associated with aquariums but there are others so I can't say for sure. what you were paddling through. Looking forward to that next trip you've got planned. Plenty of spare batteries for the cameras might be in order.
Gday Mr Foreman! Thanks for letting me no about the salvinia. That Could be the reason why the will be pulling down the weir to maybe get some more flow to the river. Hopefully it will then get rid of that weed then. I will take on board the extra batteries on the next trip. As always Thankyou for watching. 😀👍
Gday Steve. Nah! still alive mate. No snake bites or I didn’t get swallowed by god knows what under all that debris 😂. I have been watching your daring river run series. So good to see water in the river again. Last time I was up that way it was bone dry. I will be looking forward to the Menindee lakes video and hopefully you stopped of at Pooncarie as that’s where I lived as a child for a few years. Say hi to kaz and thanks for sticking round. 👍😀
@@craigtsadventures7414 After watching I was wondering the same thing mate. I kept thinking "any time now he'll be wondering how he'll get this broken thing back home again". All that aside, it was a great video Craig, well done.
Gday Mr foreman, great to hear from you as always. This canoe trip was pretty much a practise run for a canoe trip that I am planning for later this year. This next trip will be over 3-4 days and will involve camping out each night. Thanks for watching and say hi to Wilms and kriket for me.👍
Thanks. I ended up running short on GoPro Batteries towards the end of this video and unfortunately loosing the use of the DSLR I was limited on footage. Thanks for watching.
