I hate to be the "boomer" kinda guy, but, even as an software developer, I have my limits. I'll never say never, but Ill not use it as much as I can, I still love the real world more.
I don’t think realistic graphics is nearly as important as the video starts out to be. That’s not what the Oasis is about and not what their Virtual Reality about. Take a look at the main character’s avatar and their best friend’s avatar, they share a lot of design cues from their real life face but are heavily stylized with fantasy features. While graphics are fairly important for immersion and interest, the actual most important trait is having things to do and people to meet. Doing more than gaming is what makes the Oasis different from just another Fortnite clone. VRChat is definitely the closest thing we have to the Oasis. It’s the only real Oasis as there’s less restrictions on player made content. That has both good and bad implications but the freedom is undeniable.
Literally I could not care less about how “woke” the game is stop with this stupid fucking culture war bullshit and actually review the real issues the game has. The game is dog shit, it has a billion flaws but “wokeness” isn’t one of them lil bro
Hey little buddy, wokeness is an issue as complained about by a large multitude of people. So just because you don’t think it is a problem, doesn’t mean others don’t. I’m not making a judgement just reporting on what the community is saying, and if you watch the full video instead of just this 30 second short you will find out that I talk about every other issue the game has and only briefly mention wokeness. The real issue is the ppl that make and buy the games don’t want actual black stories they bury black history like literally all of it as much as possible the only one made so far is AC origins stop being races and tell more than yt stories and yall stole the blk Gods and called them Greek and made a while pantheon behind it so yts and Japanese will be ok
The only thing I noted when watching ready player one, is now grindy the Oasis is. If you die you lose EVERYTHING? I think something that has to be considered here is how popular it would actually be. Im sure there would be thousands more people playing VR games if there was a wider range of appeals

He is playing Macrinus, who if you google it, was a Roman Emperor. Now, they may have adjusted it slightly to make him a powerful merchant rather than an emperor I do not know but in the trailer it has him seated in the emperor’s seat in the colosseum 🤷♂️
If they just made Yasuke some npc that trained the player, all this "Ah, Yasuke was a samurai." "No, he wasn't a samurai" shit wouldn't have started in the first place.
Why is Yasuke shown in full armor while walking through a village? Wouldn't something like that only be worn in battle? I know this is probably a Google question, but does anyone have any ideas?
and I think the idea would be great to live in Vr, I love being in Vrchat for example and I know many people who are actually already living in Vr. They are sleeping there eating there, just go to work so they have enough money to keep the lifestyle. I tried sleeping in Vrchat, its not that great for me xD, but I still understand why people are spending so much time there. It is a magical world but the real world is still really important I think even though you can make it extremly realistic in Vr. The real world has still so much to offer.

FFS just bloody actually read the fucking history up in japanese and look at all the fucking historical texts from that time period... he is not a samurai... some people did think he might be turned into a tono (lord) in name only due to oda's favorability with no actual power, but he was never a samurai... its like how oda loves to bring a bunch of sumos and give them houses and gave them bushi titles with no family names.... the oda guy loves to keep humans that interest him as pets FFS... plus back then he can't even give a samurai titles to these people... because back then it was prior to the first foreign samurai period where they finally gave away samurai titles to others not born into a samurai family.... this is the period where if you want to be a samurai, you had to be born into a family of samurai... this is the period they lived in.... BTW by so called being "born into" they mean that a family of samurais took a child into their training regime from young after being chosen... people back then loved the bloodline crap but sometimes they also take in children from the outside and adopting them into their family.... its the period where sometimes its hard to see whose lineage you actually belong to unless you are literally born into the family that are either rich and have power or with loads of concubines.... i don't even need a fucking degree in japanese history to even know something so simple.... all i had to do was just watch series about japanese historical dramas and get the basic idea of the time period they were supposed to be in and just use references from what was happening to people around nobunaga to pull out something so simple... yasuke was literally a human pet of nobunaga.... he was there to be shown to guest as entertainment just like the bunch of bushi sumos he summoned from all over his land...
You were good for saying how all his historical basis was mostly propaganda, but you didn’t really cover what the real character did and what happened to him. How he was sold back into slavery after one year in Japan to the Dutch.
According to Japanese records, not only Nobunaga's cause of death, but his body is still missing, and he is still alive and dead. It's crazy to use games as evidence of historical fact, or anime as evidence of historical fact. Ubisoft completely mispromoted AC Shadows. AC Shadows is a fantasy that has nothing to do with history or real people.
