But this isn't your design is it? The line goes to someone else. Isn't this stealing to make copies off someone's elses design and make money from them? They could take you to court.
This isn’t your pattern and I unsubscribed as soon as you said you’re manufacturing it!!! Then you just told someone else in your comments that called you on it that you’re in the process of asking the creator for permission. You needed to do that before you started manufacturing it. You did not ask the creator because she had no idea you literally stole her free pattern and claimed as your own. Also what happened to HANDMADE? Man flip that shit around, how would you feel if someone did that to you??
I was given perspective and I’m grateful for it. I understand now that I made a mistake, and moving forward all I can do now is try to be better and learn from this mistake <3. I will not be selling anything and have reached out and apologized to the original creator
@@ninagalvani1007 not going through with this anymore!! Many people helped me realized the severity of the situation and I feel terrible not thinking about this in the first place :(. HUGE lesson learned
It is not ethical to take another designers pattern and profit off of it in this way. It is not your duck nor your pattern to be having it manufactured. I hope you are sharing your profits with her.
@@ashleyrosepeters I’m glad to hear it. I love your idea about the duck bar but you should create your own pattern, not using a duck, to continue it with. Thank you for your reply.
I originally thought that this video was so cute, however you thought to manufacture someone else’s design. As an artist this is heartbreaking and in another video you comment on how you wouldn’t share the manufacturers you use because it’s like letting someone copy off your homework. That’s just wild. You should not manufacture this product even if somehow she does give you permission now. And be mindful in the future because you could be sued. I hope you learn from this mistake and create your own designs.
Thank you for your comment. After posting the video I understand the severity of the situation and will not move forward in selling them. I never meant to cause harm to the original creator and have definitely learned a HUGE lesson! I appreciate you pointing this out to me as well, because it is ironic how I said that now that I am thinking about it more. It made me see it from a different perspective of what the pattern creator must feel! Thank you for not being rude in the comment and giving the constructive criticism 🩵
What concerns me with your pinned comment is that it didn’t occurred to you that this MIGHT cause concern with the original designers pattern. This tells me that you are seriously lacking common sense. You are a grown woman. It’s almost scary to observe you didn’t even think about the consequences until someone pointed it out publicly.
@@adriana.ostfriesland trust me I feel stupid lol. again I think I just got caught up in the “you can redistribute the final product” and didn’t think twice about making it handmade which is 100% my own fault
@@teacheraprilrogers hello! I reuse captions from videos so it did not copy over since I did not do it in my last video. I know now how important it is to credit anything mentioned in videos or posts, so I will definitely remember to do so in the future. I am still learning!!🥲
@@ashleyrosepetersThe concerning part is that you thought it was okay to not credit, and mass produce and manufacture? How are we supposed to trust someone who has a track record of this :(( it's really disappointing. I truly hope you can see where everyone is coming from. I'm glad you're now crediting @crochetbyel but extremely disappointed this has to be pointed out to you. Other creators shouldn't have to call you out for ripping off others :(
@@eihlr totally understand that, and it was a huge miss on my end. Easy to say i definitely had tunnel vision. I’m just glad I’m fully aware now regardless of the mistake I made in the past
@@eihlr I 100% see where everyone is coming from and understand that it’s a silly thing that should be common sense. it’s clear that I had tunnel vision for all the wrong reasons, but I am glad that I am fully aware now and would never make a mistake like this again in the future. Had I realized sooner that it was this big of a problem i definitely would not have done anything like it let alone post it given all of the negativity I have received in the last 24 hours😅.
@@ashleyrosepeters Dude I really love how you're handling this. You hold such grace in your words! I hope my comment didn't come across as super harsh, reading it back I feel I should have reworded a bit. We all make mistakes, some bigger than others, but I'm really glad you've figured out what you can do!
Why are you having a pattern that is not yours mass manufactured? You aren't the designer. You didn't create the original crochet pattern. You don't even credit the artist. This is really disappointing because you are talented. This is wrong on so many levels.
it wasn’t my intention to steal the pattern😔. it definitely took other people telling me realize that this was definitely not right. I’m glad that I’ve been made aware now so I will never do something like this is the future. I will not be selling any of the ducks that were manufactured and I have apologized to the original creator.
You took someones pattern and manufactured it without permission from the creator of the pattern. You are correct, the creator did say you could sell the final product of the handmade good but you had it manufactured which is not "handmade." To make things worse, you have never given her proper credit for the pattern. I'm sorry but what you are doing is wrong. It falls in the same category as people that take a pattern, make a couple of changes and then sell it as their own. It's all wrong.
@@user-zx8dm3fk4h I totally agree with everything that you have said about not properly ensuring that this is okay to do. I have, however, credited her everywhere on my shop and anytime I sell the ducks and in descriptions! I know that doesn’t make it right to manufacture, but I am definitely trying to make it right now given all of the feedback from everyone!
Serious question: did you not do that before? Fabric plushie patterns pretty much always have that, so I thought the one or two crochet patterns I looked at were flukes
@@Coffeeislife33 hello! I definitely made a mistake, and I am trying to fix it now by reaching out the the creator. I have always tried to credit the original creators pattern when possible though 🩵
@@ashleyrosepeters um when? in all of ur videos u didnt mention the creator once all i heard was mine mine mine kept saying YOUR duck design not in caption or even in the videos
@@destinystewart7267 oh I see you meanwhile I am talking about it! I see how that can come across as not crediting. I guess I didn’t think about it since I always put it in my descriptions, but you are right I should mention in the video while I am talking about it. I always mean that the build your own duck was a concept that I created, but I should definitely clarify that the pattern itself is not mine, even if I state it in the description!
@@ashleyrosepeters bruh.. we all literally have proof that you did not put the pattern designer in your description or comment until you got asked the link to the pattern at all until today when you got caught..
@@ashleyrosepetersplease don’t lie. I show your original descriptions in my video, you only added the designer afterwards. I would have fallen for you playing ignorance but to purposely lie about properly crediting the designer has made me lose all sense of sympathy for this situation
Oooph ... So originally watched this thinking it was your duck pattern. Really think you should reconsider manufacturing unless you asked permission from the Creator of the pattern
Hello! love your booth layout and so happy that the duck was selling great for you! But you don’t clarify if the creator of the duck pattern was aware of or ok with you mass producing their pattern. As a crochet artist it is super important that you check with the artist first before doing something like this. Patterns take so much time and creativity even for something small like the duck. Yes they may take up a lot of time to make so many by hand but that is where the true value of making something by hand is. Its in the time and effort it takes to create them. Anyways I really do hope you reached out to the creator. Keep up the hard work!! Much love!! ❤

Thank you so much for your constructive feedback as I am still trying to navigate all things business😅. I have reached out to the creator though, and I hope I can undo any issues this has caused😔.
@ashleyrosepeters, yeah, and you shouldn't be mass producing someone elses design. You are not ethical at all. Shame on you! Oh NOW you're giving credit? Wow just wow.

Hello everyone! Thank you for your insight about manufacturing the duck pattern. It did not occur to me that this might cause concern with the original designer's pattern, so I appreciate you all bringing this to my attention. I in no way intended to harm the original creator and was lost in the fact that she said we could sell the final product - meaning handmade goods! I have reached out to the original creator to get her input on the situation and will NOT be selling the plushies regardless ❤. I have NOT and will not sell these items unless I get permission from crcochetedbyel. Again, thank you all for bringing this to my attention! It’s easy to lose sight and get caught up in something I shouldn’t have, so I sincerely appreciate everyone’s feedback😊🩵
regardless on her answer, you should stop making it. It leaves a bad taste and can in the end coast you more then you are willing to pay. What would you think if someone did this to you and first very late in the process reached out to you? So even if you get permission, it has harmed you and your bussines, because you knew from the very get go that ist wasn't your pattern. I hope that people won't buy the duck, if you continue.
You can say you got lost in the fact that she said we could sell the final product. I do not understand how you can think it is ok to take someone else hard work that they have given to you to use for free and mass produce it. I am glad that you traded out to her but for me personally it is to little to late. I personally hope she tells you no.
@@teacheraprilrogers I have learned a lesson for sure and regardless I will not be selling the plushies after hearing feedback. I genuinely did not understand the severity of the situation until hearing input from everyone, so for that I am grateful it is happening sooner rather than later 😞
This was a very insightful video about the manufacturing process 👍 However, I do agree with the others that the duck design belongs to crochetedbyel; and they do mention that they do not want the design to be copied or heavily referenced. They only allow the finished crocheted product to be sold. Unless you have their explicit permission, then of course disregard this part of the comment. Otherwise, I would urge you to reconsider mass producing their design. It won't bode well for your small business in the long run if the issue arises with crochetedbyel. You can easily design your own version of the duck and continue your "build your own duck" line.
Thank you so much for this insight🩵. I have addressed the matter in my pinned comment and am looking to fix my mistakes by contacting the original creator <3.

@@Coffeeislife33 i totally get that. I did reach out to the creator, and I’m not selling anything without her consent, so I’m not sure what else to do at the moment
Im pretty sure the pattern you used was intended for sale of HANDMADE crocheted plushies. That youre manufactoring someone elses pattern is awful. What if this starts a trend and you in fact hurt the entire crochet community. I feel this is horrible and if you cant keep up with the demand of crocheting them by hand as intended then enlist some friends to help you out or take orders like the rest of us do, dont have them made overseas my god.

You can get sand/gravel at home depot or other stores like that. Those bags tear so fast because of the weight. We've bought buckets for our next event and will strap them down with cords.
