That’s the first time I’ve seen this in context. Puts it in other light. The Beatles seem to be in good form. I suppose it helps, without the customary screaming, to be able to hear yourselves. Paul muffs one line in “Till There Was You”. Instead of “they tell me”, he sings “they…er…send me”, but he doesn’t let it throw him. George plays an embellished version of his recorded guitar solo in the same song, which is nice.
Wow. I was so busy watching The Beatles, that I never even realized that Tommy Steele was one of the performers that night. I've been a huge Tommy Steele fan for a very long time now. I just wish I could have seen his performance as well. 🤩😍💙
I’m 73 and will be 74 in a couple of months. I’ve loved them for 62 years and that hasn’t changed a bit. I never got to see them all together, as my parents wouldn’t let me go or take me, at 12 yrs old. I did get to see Paul, with Wings, in 1976. I’ve been to a lot of concerts and it still remains the best of all.
Great! I just started listening to this album and can’t stop. For the fledgeling guitar players among us could you just jot down in the comments what chords you were playing?
It is; but it's Byrne, not Burns. He stated out with Granada & BBC before moving back over to Dublin where he became well known with the Late show. - Apparently they had met before in 61 or 62 and Paul asked Gay to be their manager.
A superstar line-up at this RVP, the likes of which we will never see again. Awesome! I would pay treble the amount to have seen this performance, than one single ticket for Oasis 2025! (Mind you, a lot of people have actually splashed out thousands of pounds to see those two elderly, tone-deaf, talent-retarded, money grabbing and fairly unpleasant brothers attempting to re-capture their youth.) Just my opinion. This video from 1963 shows pure class! And dignity. Thanks for sharing. Love and peace.
