Why does the tenor sax soloist just play the same notes over and over again, we get it you can articulate. Bari was good just needs to work on the improvisation part. Not being disrespectful just my opinion. The ensemble over all is really good for a high school band. Props to the drummer and the lead trumpet tho. Altos blended well.
Played to so many times as a youngster. First played at band camp at Illinois Champaign Urbana. I felt proud of the piece I mean heck we were young I guess Freshmen but the senior band made fun of us because yes they were more advanced than we were. They were playing Pineapple pole suite or something. It bothered me for a minute but I just kept telling myself that we showed way more class than the older more advanced band. When they go low you go high. No, it does not bother me anymore for I became a musician and have played much tougher songs in Orchestra than Pineapple pole. hahahahaha
What a beautiful music, composed more than century ago. Here in Brazil, not even the richest person can send a son, to a high school like the West Orange High School, in Florida. My sincere congratulations for the American people.
For Cole D., Thum Ranhsiyawaranon, and other curious Seminole fans, in addition to the videos posted on Marching Chiefs Vimeo (vimeo.com/fsuchiefs), WatchESPN offers another way to watch pregame/halftime performances from a neat, close-up vantage point on what they call "Skycam." This "tutorial" I threw together gives you step-by-step directions of how to access/watch these videos (live or old). I hope it helps. Although some small things may change on this list from game to game (e.g. for 4. it will not always be #11 Ole Miss vs #4 Florida State), this is a nice, consistent way to watch the Marching Chiefs pregame/halftime performances if you cannot make it to a game or you just simply want to watch a particular performance again: 1. Go to WatchESPN ONLINE (at www.espn.com/watchespn/) OR in the DOWNLOADABLE APP (which seems to have a wider selection of past games) 2. Click on Replay 3. Scroll down to Football and under NCAAF you will see all the available past events 4. Click on Skycam - #11 Ole Miss vs #4 Florida State (Football) 5. Select, and enter the information for, your TV provider 6. Click the play button and fast forward to about 2:06:55 (in the video, not this link) 7. Enjoy El Toro Caliente, Pregame Fanfare, and the Fight Song Of course, you can always watch this feed live during games as well. If this post helped you and/or you can think of friends/family that would also be interested in this post, please share it. GO NOLES!
Oh, shit, that was ME too. That's hilarious. I was about to reply and then I saw that it was me who had posted that earlier comment. I used to play this on my alto. When I still had one. I used to live in St Pete where Mindi is from. I first listened to her on a Florida smooth jazz channel, from Amsterdam, shortly after I left St Pete, I think, and I always wanted to play this whereas I (still) use many of her other songs to exercise by which also sort of gets them into your mind, but most of her music is not the music I want to play. (It is just like with some sports that you only want to watch, I suppose.) (It IS possible to play two notes at the same time, but that is not happening here, and it sounds very different. It's basically when you play one note at the air stream where it flips an octave, without using the octave key, if that makes sense.) I dunno why RU-vid popped this into my stream again but I am glad that it did.
@@angelinasouren haha good to know! I don’t play many of her songs either but I like the groove of this one a lot. And I looked at the sheet music and was confused. 🤘
@@ShawnHartke I too remember looking at the sheet music and being confused because there was a part in it that really wasn't what it was supposed to be. But that wasn't what you meant, I'm sure. (I hadn't managed to play the whole thing yet, in case you wonder. I had to pawn my alto and didn't know that I could have extended the period. When I stopped by to pick it up, it had sold the previous day, they said. So that was that.)
hehe, none of those songs including this one, on youtube, will never be able to escape the wrath of "Not quite my tempo" & "Are you rushing or are you dragging?", in the comments; and I love it....
