I wonder if they actually reacted to it on the Titanic or if they werent at their posts at all and just reportet it as such afterwards to save their butts.
are there two versions of Sully out there? The scenes from the controller and cabin crew POV were not in the movie. The theatrical release had them from the cockpit POV with controller voice heard over the radio.
Lmao so, the best part about this movie and this part specifically is this was improv, they did not go by script on this scene 😂 that’s what makes it so wholesome, most of the movie isn’t scripted as far as character lines, it’s hands down one of my most favorites of all time
Hollywood always messes up the authenticity by having no clue about the little things. The chief of the boat would not be in the room while the captain has an introductory meeting with his new XO.
One of the saddest yet most fascinating facts I've heard is that the Titanic probably would've stayed afloat if they hadn't turned and simply hit it head on. Ships even back then are much like cars and have a crumple zone in the front to absorb the force of collisions. Because of this, if they had hit it head on, it most likely wouldn't have flooded enough of the water tight compartments to sink, and only the relatively few people in the front of the ship would've died. However, the crew is duty bound to protect everyone on board, so even if they had been aware of this, they had no choice but to attempt to save everyone instead of sacrificing the few to save the many.
