There i a simple test that may not prove that your oil is genuine olive oil but can prove it is not! Put a bottle in the fridge (be preferably 4°C (39°F)) for a few hours. When you take it off the oil, if it is olive oil, will be white and solid. By "solid" I mean a dense white foam, like styrofoam or coconut oil. You can take the plug off the bottle and turn the bottle upside down: NOT A SINGLE DROP should fall off. If one drop does, it is not a drop of olive oil. This test does not guarantee our oil is pure olive; but if it fails it guarantees it is not. I did perform this test (plus another using electrical conductivity) on oils that claimed Organic Pure Extra Virgin that I had bought at specialized certified organic natural food stores and they failed. I found one that met both tests an nowI stick to it. It is called Émile Noël. www.amazon.ca/Emile-Noel-Organic-Oils-Extra-Virgin/dp/B00PN0XVYO No: I'm not paid for the publicity.
they are all fake as far as I can tell they all have failed tests at one time or another that's why they can never recommend a brand to buy there are no brands that anyone can say buy this or this and its always reliable
I buy my olive oil from a company called Fratelli Olio Carli, best had but can only by 6 or 12 bottle lots. This year they had Parmigiano Reggiano sadly only for 2 months. Bought some but haven't tried yet
