Pancho Villa, a criminal and bandit, killed and robbed innocent people. He also took other people's property from people. It is a pity that Diaz did not destroy this bandit and criminal. But in 1923 he got what he deserved. He's just an asshole
the most off things about this scene: 1) A horse that is not qualified to race would not be let into a horse race, especially if that horse's identity - and the rider's identity - was unknown 2) A child that young should not be allowed to be a jockey with adult jockeys due to the weight differences. 3) A jockey/rider would not be allowed to just take off their helmet and throw it down onto the track. This not only takes extra weight off, but it causes a potential hazard on the track. 4) Horses showing that much aggression to each other before a race would normally be scratched
The moment when Garr as the mother has the "thank you" moment with the horse is one of the most profound, quiet and heartbreaking scenes in any film. I wish they would re release this for a new generation.
