Im 19, but iv ben looking into homesteading and homemaking for a couple years now! I want to set myself on the right path now so that by the time i am ready to get married and have kids, i can focus on building that up and taking care of my family rather than playing catch up. I also dont want to feel as if i cant have have kids or a large family simply because of the cost of putting food on the table. if im able to build up a fruitful home, that will be less of an issue because i would b relying on my on productivity and harvest rather than the government and economy.
The problems start when your chicks grow up into roosters but it doesn't happen once.. 4 or 5 become roosters and before you know it a chicken has been Mia for weeks and returns with 4 chicks then like a overnight fashion trend the rest go missing and after a few weeks you're at a lost and just calling my them all chicken and rooster lol
We are seniors and see the direction of our country. We are considering homesteading to meet our needs. Would you suggest we pursue this idea. We are pretty healthy.
My dad and I rebuilt a cart just like this with a brand new predator 212 and put larger offroad tires on it because our yard is kinda gnarly and we ended up throwing it on the trailer a couple of times when we went to ride our ATVs. My childhood wasn't perfect but with those kind of things I still think it was alright overall. Still have it but it hasn't been started in almost a decade probably, I definitely can't fit it anymore 😂
Post another about the go cart lol this is cool of you to do for your kids but I’m sure your gonna ride it too! Haha. don’t forget to take the govner out of the engine if it still has it and upgrade the crab and intake, you’ll have a nice little go cart that will go 10-15mph faster.
No thank you I have 4 chickens in a couple of months I will get 2 more chicks and that’s my flock I have enough hens to spoil right now they are my lady’s keep it simple friends
Hah we have so many chickens. I started with three I hatched from a dozen fertile eggs (they were shipped to me, abismal hatch rate because of handling). Then I bought a dozen female chicks with one rooster. And then I got some tractor supply chicks of which 4 were roosters. We are up to around 70 chickens, 5 active roosters and some young roosters out of eggs the hens hatched that will end up in the freezer. And then there’s the ducks and guinea fowl 😂😂😂 I’ve got minions all over and fewer flies than any of my neighbors 😂😂😂
Dude as a new chicken mama i can i'm going to tell you you suck that's cruel ivory arranged run and Coop I don't know how many times in the last 8-9 weeks they don't need to be locked away somewhere like prison for 2 weeks however you need to be locked in your basement for 4 weeks till you get the hang of don't ever do that againYou just angered me I'll never watch one of your videos never..2 weeks how long did you lock your kids in their crib for 2 weeks so they knew where to come home atGet the hell out of here
Wow that is so horribly devastating! I understand how you and your family feel. I had gotten baby ducks this spring and a bobcat killed them all. Thank goodness he couldn't get in my chicken coops. I still mourn for my little ducklings .
This is 100% true! Got some laying hens then went to tractor supply for some feed, they had a $1 per chick special! Came out with 12 babies! Then found some incubators on amazon! Hatched out 25 more chicks😂 im not sure when its going to be enough but ill be feeding the better half of the population here soon 🎉
So sorry you and your family had to endure this. We do our absolute best to keep our chickens and waterfowl safe, but we’ve had our share of losses over the last couple of years. Just this past spring a fox got one of our prized silkies and one of our call ducks within a few minutes. These incidents don’t happen often thankfully, but when they do, it stays with you for days and leaves you feeling like a failure. Ultimately you can only do so much, and like you said, it is what it is.
We just started chickens on our hobby farm , thanks to your channel, and this is our worst fear happening- Sorry for your loss-praying for that lone survivor! God Bless.
My math was more like “I want six but some will die so I’ll get 8 or heck why not 10? because chics are born walking a fine line of death…then they all make it and suddenly I have a fl ok in my suburban backyard….
Does she have it linked somewhere? That would be a fun read. (Assuming that wasn't snark, of course. Harder to tell that with the written word, sometimes.)
I love chickens!❤ They're so cute!💕 Except for the mean ones. 😠💢🐓 The mean ones make me want to cry when they keep attacking me for simply existing in their territory. 😭😭😭🆘 At any rate, chicken math is awesome! 😎👍
