Hey guys, there's this group of Indian islands called Andaman and Nicobar Islands with some of the most amazing beaches in the country. They're home to beautiful places, especially Ross & Smith Islands (Twin Islands), Long Island (Mark Bay Beach and Lalaji Bay Beach), Little Andaman Island, or Jolly Buoy Island. Another incredible place in India that I highly recommend is Meghalaya. They have these mind-blowing human-created bridges made from living plants called Living root bridges - it's like something out of the movie Avatar. Meghalaya is also famous for its waterfalls and caves, such as Wei Sawdong Falls, NohKaLikai Falls, Elephant Falls, Nohsngithiang Falls, Dawki River, Phi Phi Fall, Umshiang Double-Decker Root Bridge, Tura, Nongkhnum River Island, Siju Caves, Laitlum Canyon, and Wari Chora. Also, consider visiting the neighboring state of Sikkim, especially places like Gurudongmar Lake, Yumthang Valley, Lachen, Lachung, Yume Samdong, Tsomgo Lake. These are absolute must-visit places in India, much better than Indian cities. If you're on a golden travel route in India, it's a waste of time. Visit these places, and you'll truly experience the real beauty of India.

Thank you very much! Yes the cities are tricky and to be honest we are not feeling them very much and want to experience something else! Is there anywhere between Kolkata and Delhi you would recommend us to visit?

Hey, just a heads up about Delhi-it's dealing with some serious air pollution right now, like really bad. Maybe consider checking out Himachal Pradesh instead? It's this gorgeous Himalayan state just 300 km away from Delhi with tons of beautiful spots. Kolkata is the capital of West Bengal, and if you're thinking of heading there, Darjeeling is pretty close by. I'd suggest going to Darjeeling instead of Kolkata. It's a beautiful hill station, and you can even take a train journey on the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (Darjeeling-New Jalpaiguri). This train ride is considered one of the most beautiful in India, even making it to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list. The views of Mt Kanchenjunga are jaw-dropping. The train journey ends at New Jalpaiguri, which is super close to Sikkim-one of India's top 5 beautiful states and just 100 km away. You might want to explore Sikkim instead of heading to Kolkata. Especially check out North Sikkim; it's stunning. Skip the typical cities and go for the Himalayan lakes and valleys like Yumthang Valley, Lachung, Zero Point, and Tsongo Lake. Considering the pollution in Delhi and the hustle and bustle in Kolkata, it might be a good idea to reconsider your plans. Hope this helps!@@alanshannon3884

Thank you very much! We have a flight out of Kolkata on the 20th so we will look at things around there that isn't city centres! Maybe Delhi isn't such a good idea after all, thank you for your help!

Go to Andaman and Nicobar islands, Sikkim, dharmshala, shimla , shillong, Kohima, gir national park safari for Asian lion. These places are must visit.
