Very much enjoy your narration and voice. It is sweet and humble and you do a great job at explaining. I would love to see close-up of the "bad" finish as it gives me a better sense of where you are starting.
Such a lovely job as it showed your appreciation for the beauty of simplicity of design! Wood is its own decoration on these MCM pieces. My favorite is the chair, it took me back seeing that fabric!!!
I love the floating desk! It's not something you see everyday and it's not as bulky as many desks. You made it beautiful again!!! The chair is really nice as well, I'm glad that you showed the fabric up close, it looks like it will go with many decor types. Nice work on the arms!!! 😍❤❤
Man oh Man what a comeback Emily!!! Fantastically done as always!!! The globe & rug really caught my eye during the staging shots. Very well paired Homie!! Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!
You are wise to hand sand. I love that 3M paper too. Oxalis acid can be so helpful and this is the rare time I agree with a spot treatment. I always appreciate your approach to refreshing pieces
That desk is stunning and it’s amazing it still has the keys! (They are cool too.) I really like the chair and it would sell fast in my area. Great job!
What a fabulous couple of finds! You did a lovely job of restoring both the desk and the chair. You did a great job of repairing and concealing that one water-damaged little spot. I am going to guess that fabric is original to the chair. Even if it isn’t, the nubby tweady fabric was often used instead of black leather. I hope the chair finds a home where its beauty is appreciated. Thank you for the poem and thoughtful intro.🌸
I loved the fabric on the chair! It looks neutral from far away, but when you look up close it has all those pops of color. Kind of like looking at an old tv too close 😅. Thank you Deborah! ❤️
Well, I think I've found a new channel to subscribe to. Your commentary is informative and relaxing too, and your video production is subtle and free of gimmicks - which I much prefer. Oh, and mid-century furniture is wonderful.
Great job as usual. Your meticulous work gives consistently excellent results. Too bad the desk and chair were separated; they looked great together. Thank you for sharing your work.
Gorgeous pieces! The desk especially. Funny that you mention IKEA. Markaryd is a place in Småland, Sweden very close to where Ingvar Kamprad started IKEA. These types of 60s chairs are common in thrift shops here in Sweden. We had several when I grew up.
From my research from Trena from John's Furniture Repair & from Trasend, you never use asiliac acid on one spot, also always use high glue in joints on chairs, so it can easily be removed with vinegar injected in joints for future repair. Thank you for saving these beautiful pieces of furniture!!
Honestly I didn't care for it. With Deft I didn't have to sand / buff the lacquer. This one seemed to require it more and the spray nozzle was not so great.
I was angry as a child that I wasn’t allowed to take shop classes. That was for boys 😠 I love watching you turn lost pieces into something so beautiful.
