I've never had that dessert you tried. For the sweet street food I like the Ube sticky rice and the pancake with sweet milk. For savory street food here I like the kwek kwek!

I’m a FilAm but I never experienced, what you are doing walking in a street in Quiapo there is big contrast . Walking in BGC and the street in Manila. I hope you make the Philippines as your base? One thing I’m proud of it, is that every one talk to you in English.

Hello Dany, that chewy dessert you tried is called “ sapin sapin” which means essentially means ‘Layers’. The best sapin sapin is in Malabon city , not too far from binondo area. Dolor’s Kakanin in general luna in Malabon is the BEST! I always bring back to the states a whole pie whenever I visit the Philippines. I have tried many many sapin sapin and our local one is 👍🏼. Salamat and Mabuhay!

Manila was once called the Paris of Asia..You can watch the old Manila in you tube.... and the Houses Buildings and Transportations was more beautiful... Some ART devo and Art noveau buildings stil existed....until it was bombarded by the Japanese during WWII... Sta Cruz, Quiapo, Escolta, Binondo Area was a prominent Commercial Area...Busy area then...

The best street food in Manila is in Luneta Park street food that's the best in the world. Other best street food is in the oldest Chinatown in the world Binondo if you just know where to go.

Don't eat foods in that dirty places of Quiapo. It's disgusting place. Why not try to go back to Siargao, there's a lot of much beautiful yet natural places in Mindanao especially in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro or Gen Santos City.
