I realized I didn’t explain WHY you want to use Elmer’s glue as a step!🤪 I tried a bell without glue and it doesn’t distress the same. The glue helps peel the paint up really nicely. Without that step, the paint will smear around rather than lift👍🏻

To make it more secure you can use a hot glue gun or a wood burner to melt a hole in the top of the bell before you glue the two bowls together. Then thread your rope through the hole and tie a knot. Really great idea I love them! 🥰

I made some of those bells the year before last. Mines was white. I like the paper bag painting technique and adding the bell on the inside. I like that tip. Thanks for sharing.

I love this idea. It amazes me the DIY projects that you can create. Especially for those of us who like to have gorgeous while spending as little as possible.
They turned out great. I made a bunch last year in two different sizes to put on a tree that I put on my covered front porch. I absolutely love them. I didn't do the elmers glue method on mine. I spray painted mine and then did a faux galvanized, rustic treatment on them but honestly that method looks way less time consuming and they turned out the same. I might have to try that.
I saw this DIY a few years back on Pinterest and thought it was genius! There was some made with bunt pans and jell-o pans and we all know thrift stores usually have those!
I love these! So adorable! I would like to do a gold version. Now wondering on the paint colors to make that happen. I'll definately make some using your tutorial just more of a gold bell. LOVE!

Wow ! I love these .. weekend project . I have some brick pillars at my drive way and was trying to come up with something. Could I spray it with something if it’s goi g to be in the elements ? I do have a covered pouch to I could put them on .
Wow, they look like the real thing! You would never know they were plastic bowls. So pretty above your door. But all I kept thinking about was the possibility of ruining your lovely manicure!
