@@ulti8106 best budokai game? Does infinite worlds count? I like that one for the simple fact that they put in things like running on snake way, catching bubbles the money, and training. It was different and i hope something like that is done in Kakorot.

I just know that these old game challenge videos kept randomly appearing and it's dudes with face cams that do tons of unfunny editing and ending up failing at the end anyway. Some do some don't but the whole video was not entertaining with them constantly talking, zooming in when they yell and saying how hard the AI is...in very hard mode

Fun fact: My brother (who made the bet for this VERY VIDEO) Also loves Budokai 2. It's his favorite Budokai game in the entire series because of nostalgia.

Me too man. I remember sneaking into my Christmas gifts one year to find a PlayStation 2 with the first of the series, Dragonball z Budokai. I was so pumped, the only thing I didn't like like about Budokai 2 and 3, was the way the chose to narratie the game, Budokai did it the best by far.

@@dogboi76 Trust me when I say it, it was very easy with Goku/Gohan. Obviously, without having properly practiced it, you'll have a lot of trouble, but with practice, it's effortless. To me, Budokai 3 was a lot more challenging.

True tbh. I forgot how op the combo cancels were if you can keep the timing fluid. Back in the day though holy shit I never really knew about cancelling and was having so much trouble against him

For me personally, I so loved Budokai 1's story mode that I measured every DBZ game's story to that bar. That was the most I had ever been into a story mode and it was in large part due to the really fleshed out cutscenes. I still remember my reaction when I clicked on story mode for Budokai 1 and the first thing I see is a damn near frame for frame recreation of Raditz coming to earth. I couldn't wait to see those same fleshed out cutscenes for my favorite Majin Buu moments and so when I played this and I saw a board game I was beyond disappointed lol. My friends and I still laugh about my reaction. We played the story for hours and I kept saying "nah this isn't the real story. The cutscenes are gonna come later" Then we beat it and we were legit depressed lol. If Budokai's story mode was never a thing I probably wouldn't have had a problem with Budokai 2 but I will never defend their choice to do a damn board game. This is why I'm so excited for Kakarot. Those cutscenes look so great and the open world details are pretty interesting. With that said, The gameplay for this was great and I will give them all the credit for revamping the engine in comparison to Budokai 1. Other than the story mode it's a really big upgrade from 1 and it laid the ground work for the masterpiece that would ultimately be Budokai 3.

If fighterz did a design like this it’d been so much better. Fighterz story was awful, but Budokai 2 is probably my favorite budokai.

@@benjaminpeters6729 I mean... To an extent. Memory is weird, it's sometimes wrong but with so much conviction. That being said, I loved that mechanic back in the day, before Internet ruined my perspective of everything and made me cynical. The fact that the stories I played were loosely based on a show that I had rushed downstairs to watch whenever it was on, basically been brought up on, and that influenced my childhood like nothing else did, the fact I could kind of make my "this is how the fights went down" was the best dude, just the best. Until I had sex, that blew this out the water.

@@vinzo0913 all the reviewers like ign said they hated it because they replaced the cinematic cut scenes and it came off as lazy...but truthfully even though budokai 3 is a better fighter mechanically, they were the ultimate lazy in their cutscenes

Anthony Young I could almost argue the one with vegeta vs kid buu was harder since it was longer and it was almost impossible to keep him in a combo, I just remember running and spamming explosion wave, and if I messed up it was over

Survival until time runs out. You had to survive 2-3 minutes against that overpowered monster!!

I'd rather fight Buu than face Frieza's Energy Cutters tbh

Why play BT1 at all? Even BT2 is better.
