RO! You guys are missing the best part! The little sheds in the back of the $1000 one are light switches to turn the lights on inside!! You just have to open them from the top and youll see a battery pack!!

The best gingerbread house I made was the one I made from scratch. The cookie was actually good, the frosting was yummy (not too sweet) and I stuck to the traditional candies (I just used more). I did that 1 year... it was so much work but was so fun! My boyfriend is coming home for Christmas, I think we should build one :) (thanks for the idea Ro).

Both made good points about the two houses. The $1,000 one is a centerpiece thing, while if you're just looking to do one for fun, that Target one looks to be a good kit! I just wouldn't eat it, is all. And this is a cop-out, but my favorite part was the puppies :3
