Hi Ashley and Mike! I stumbled onto your channel. My wife Nikki and I are going to Vietnam in October. Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An and Saigon. Being budget-minded. We appreciate your videos showing prices of everything! Regardless of budget. Price of good and services is relevant to everyone. Not all travel RU-vidr include prices as graphics. We love Da Nang! I don't know if we even made it to a night market when we were there. 🤔 That vegan bahn mi looked delicious. We also try to eat a least one or two vegetarian/vegan meals per week. Ashley should have totally bought the green glasses! They looked good. 😎

Hi Ashley, Since you don’t like pate, you can ask the vendor not to spread it on. I don’t like it either so I always order bánh mì without pate. In fact, bánh mì can be ordered according to your taste.

That’s a great tip! We usually have found that some varieties don’t include the pate, and I try to order those. The bread and veggies are always so delicious! 😋 I’m hungry just thinking about it right now!

Can you share any tips to quickly adapt to the time zone when traveling? Because I'm a person who has trouble sleeping, when I move to a faraway country, I can't sleep 😢

It took us a few days to get used to the time difference, but one thing that helped us was to set our clocks to the time in the new country before we left our country. Luckily for us, it was almost exactly 12 hours difference. So we just flipped our schedule for a day or two at home before leaving. Hope this helps!

How do you two stick to your budget? My wife and I are so bad when it comes to financial discipline! When we went to Hawaii, 14 years ago, to celebrate our 15 years of marriage anniversary, we spent to our last …dollar! We didn’t even have any petty cash to tip on the last day. So embarrassed 😞! It’s something we definitely need to improve.

Haha, we are good sometimes and terrible sometimes. It really just depends. Some of it comes from knowing that going over budget ends our adventure sooner, so that is a pretty big motivator. We use a budget tracking app called TravelSpend which allows us to stay on track and see where we spend our money. Most of it is just us kind of keeping checks on one another, but also knowing that if we want to spend a little more, and it makes us happy, let’s just live life, cause there may be no tomorrow. So we just do our best.

Haha, I suppose you could call it a job related accident. We were on our way out to film and there was just a huge part of the sidewalk that opened up into a drainage area… it was dark and unmarked. We didn’t fortunately need any medical care as I had an Ashley and she expertly patched me up, but it could have been so much worse. I’m ok now, but it definitely took me out for a bit. Thanks for being concerned! ☺️

@@mikeandashleyWhen you visit any temple in Vietnam, especially on major holidays, you will see a lot of Buddhists who are vegetarian, and that's the place to enjoy vegetarian food without spending money,

@@mikeandashley Aside from the abundant delectable cuisine that Vietnam has to offer, if you are into the eco friendly and healthier diet occasionally, Vietnam is also the kingdom of vegetarian/vegan food. We have vegan dishes that are actually tasty and not bland at all. In other countries, vegan dishes are limited to only vegetable, but wait until you try a vegan/vegetarian buffet in Vietnam. You can find a lot of vegan restaurants in Saigon. And the price is exceptionally cheap because those owners open these restaurant for humanitarian cause, not focusing on making profit. Most vegan restaurants's owners are Buddhists. If you travel Vietnam often and live in Vietnam long enough, you will see everybody go out to eat vegan food on certain days of the month. That's the Buddhist tradition. Please watch some of Max McFarlin's videos to see what vegan options you guys may like. Trust me. I think you might love it and might want to try it the next time you visit. I'm so excited writing this to you two. P/S: I hope Mike recover soon. Please travel safely because I really think you guys deserve to experience everything the world has to offer. I admire you guys as a couple, and as two wondeful human beings.

Oh yeah! We love eating vegan/vegetarian food when we can. It's usually so delicious. We have checked out some of Max's videos. He is so knowledgable about food! And thank you so much, I'm all better now! It was a nasty spill, but could have been worse for sure.
