As a Canadian - the fact that not everyone calls “coloured pencils” pencil crayons blows my mind every time.

Hi! You inspired me to get back into art! I just purchased alcohol based markers and purchased more prisma color. Learning proper shading techniques is an uphill battle for me, but I’m getting there 😅 thank you for posting your videos, I absolutely enjoy them

I have those cheap pencils and I literally hate them, everyone was so confused in my art class because we had to press on hard and make a dark colour and mine was just pale......

Nice video, I love the Arteza colored pencils, they're rich in colors and easily blends but not the best overall. The Staedler colored pencils are ok for beginners and novices. I hope to see the next colored pencils comparison with Crayola vs Pang.

You’re incorrect about the lightfastness rating. The more lightfast a color is, the LONGER it lasts while in direct or indirect contact with light. Arteza uses the ASTM rating, so a + can last over 100 years, a ++ is 50-100, a +++ even less, and so on. This is under normal display conditions-- the more direct the light contact, the shorter the span, of course.

I'd go with the Arteza ones - they don't cost that much more when you're looking at 72 of them and they produce a much more eye-catching result. And let's see some Wolverine cheap vs expensive!

Daredevil is my favorite marvel character

IMO this is the first time where it isn't even close. The stadler side looks like spiderman is being in some kind of fog or smoke, the arteza side is so much clearer and has more vibrant colors and much better coverage. Edit - I would like to see you doing the thing, not because that's my favorite, but because that one has a different look and would be a different drawing in comparison to the ones like spiderman who are just humans wearing a costume.

Arteza seems to be an amazing and pretty affordable brand overall! The only thing I've tried from them is their grey paper sketch pad and it's pretty good! Works extremely well with markers. Also looking forward to seeing you post a coloring book video again 😊

Not to knock on how amazing the Arteza side is, but I actually prefer how the Stadtler looks. It gives me nostalgia for the old newspaper comics my grandma would collect for me, and then give to me a when she visited. The way you used those extra colors really brought the look to life.

The only issue with these is the light fastness, I did some tests and some of the most lightfast colours faded in a week, so maybe not for commissions.

Your positivity is inspiring sir. You were beyond nice when comparing the overall quality of these pencils. The Staedtler were terrible looking when compared to the Arteza pencils. It wasn't even close for me. However, because of your sheer talent, you still managed to at least make the Staedtler pencils look decent.

I think you press so lightly that the pigment doesn’t go on

The left side would be good if you need a certain lighting look for your piece. I think a better comparison would've been between Arteza and either Prismacolor or Faber-Castell. Also, my favorite Marvel hero is Spider-Man, with Hulk being a close second.

An artist can draw really good with any art product... But if you don't practice and are not good at drawing then any expensive art product is not enough.

I love the comparison videos, keep em' coming! IMO, there's no comparison haha - Arteza won hands down. It would, however, be kind of cool to see a comparison of maybe a midrange product and a high end product (maybe the Arteza vs the Prismacolor or the Faber Castel). I don't think anyone's super surprised when the expensive product beats a super cheap one, and I don't think many of us entry-level artists are really debating the $30 vs the $10 product, but I think more of us would be interested in seeing the comparison from a $30 product and maybe a $50 product, those kinds of comparisons would probably be more helpful for people who're wanting to buy some new supplies - just some food for thought! Keep doing whatcha do!

Deadpool and i bought the artezas myself have yet to use them so nice to see you use them.

If you use cheap or expensive art supplies makes no difference, your pictures looks always great.😉

Noris was my least favorite of the 3 or 4 color pencil brands I used a child. (Thank goodness, my dad usually bought Luna or Faber Castell and only bought Noris once or twice when I was a child). Even if it has been at least 20 years since I used Noris as a child, I distinctly remember how light their colors came out. Kudos to you for being able to color beautifully with them. That must really take a lot of effort and skill. Really goes to show that the artist makes the art more than the supplies.

Really nice ! Actually the lighfastness rating means resistance to light over time. The more pluses, the more resistant it is 😊

I've seen ADC use arteza pencils I knew they were going to be good!!! Also Spider-Man has been my favorite since I was 3!!!

the quality you get with Arteza for £30 is a steal! They was packed nicely, have a nice vibrant tone and it shows extremely well on paper too, Arteza wins by default! They seen like a bang for your buck especially for £10 more than what the other side was othering...

personally i like the one on the right better but only bc the one on the left looka faded but you did an amazing job as always!!

I also have both sets of these pencils and the Arteza are far superior. I also like to use a blending agent on larger sections where the pigment doesn't quite cover the paper

I'd like to see you do a video where you use the Arteza everblend markers and the Arteza colored pencils together to see how well their products work together. That would actually be a cool new video series, where you take different products from the same company and see how compatible they are together.

Arteza is definitly worth it more based on the price range and quality. However, for this particular piece I going with Staedler, it looks more unique and makes me think of Spidy in some kind of multiverse where everything is kinda dulled down. As usual great job, love watching your videos.

Had the chance to check out both of them before. I think they both have their use. The Staedtler are fine if you want your coloring just a little touch or do a sketch. They should be fine if you plan to finish your drawing digital too. Where you can adjust the brightness and contrast. If you want it bright and shine it will be better to go with Arteza, or Sandford Prismacolor. Right now I try coloring with Castle Art Color pencils and Staedtler triplus and BIC Multicolor ballpoint pen with quite pleasing result. I didn´t quit on markers it´s just a bit more relaxing for me in coloring books without them breaking through the back of the page and further. I don´t have a real answer to your question about Marvel heroes, because I´m not that much into that kind of comic. More the graphic novel guy. That´s why I don´t know a lot of them. Hulk, Wolverine (in the X-Men movie version) and if "Fantastic Four" belongs to Marvel - Ben "The Thing" Grimm. Ghost Rider is a Character I like very much too. Written order is not a ranking.

There are random natural artists in my family that are extremely gifted with no education in art. I ended up a musician but I see that potentially one or both of my young children have the talent for drawing. So why not?!

ADC I think you should split the paper into four sections instead of two so that you could compare two cheap art supplies on the left and two expensive art supplies on the right then compare the best from both sides to see which is the best art supplies of all time.

Such a hard question, I think I enjoy Spiderman's witty comebacks, but I think Deadpool takes the cake - he's such a badass. With Deadpool and Spiderman is just such an unusual combo in the comics.

I love the fact that he finishes a cheap artwork and it looks AMAZING and then he does an expensive and it is just wow.

Gambit is my favorite Marvel character. I prefer the expensive, but I do believe they both can be used to serve individual desired purposes. For instance use cheap for the background while using the expensive for the foreground. And maybe a mixture for between.

Could you do a video on your inking process? Do you trace over your pencil image or do you ink directly on top and use an eraser to remove the stencil?

My favorite Marvel Hero is Ironman, and I love the Arteza Color Pencils but I am bias when it comes to Arteza. I already own their Alcohol Markers, and their Water Color Markers. You just helped me decide which color pencils I am going to buy next. As much as I like Caryola Colors, I think I will be buying the Arteza ones next.

try smudging the staedler pencils with a tissue in a circular motion to blend them, this is good for soft coverage and you can try to layer on top.
