From Early 1984. Possibly one of the pilot episodes shown here too. Enjoy.

It sure is as it's the Bid-a-Note theme that is played going into the commercial in the regular series :-) .

The zero notes bid in Bid a Note wasn't used on the episodes outside of this week of aired pilot shows.

They probably got rid of the “zero notes” bid because then it becomes a question/answer show instead of naming a tune.

@17:14, I don't know they didn't keep that for GOLDEN MEDLEY instead of using that round clock, plus this set looked better than what aired.
@ChuckD79

Some thematic elements of the opening theme were kept for a few very early episodes...for instance, the part played when John Harlan says the show's title was used for the contestant calldowns.

They should’ve kept that 0 note rule for bid-a-note. Sometimes a great clue can give the tune away

At 11:35 and 12:15 watch as Ken successfully names two tunes with zero notes but at 17:04 he let the last 10 seconds run down as he was unable to name the last tune.

Interesting they brought down the NAME THAT TUNE opening sign during Bid A Note. This was the only pilot episode to do that.
@zachhoran

This is one of the pilot episodes. Name that Tune was a hit as a weekly series, but only a marginal hit as a daily version. The show did pretty well early on, but lost ground in the ratings later in the season.

Watching these pilot episodes, I noticed the prize tags were left alone, even in Family Channel airings. Also, compared to the other pilot episodes, this one uses the 1.0 buzzers from Press Your Luck in 1983.
@Rlotpir1972

Actually, the time buzzer was taken from 'Face the Music', another Sandy Frank game show.

It's possible a reason for them airing is one of the players on this week won the GOlden Medley.

Tune Countdown, wasn't that round almost like the Golden Medley Showdown? and yes, Donna doesn't know when to quit, she took a chance and it bit her on the butt
