My first investment was in an Roth IRA about 5 years ago. Since opening this account I have made the maximum annual contribution and I automatically reinvest all the returns. This has compounded over these past 5 years to be half of my current net worth.
The second investment I made about 3 years ago when I bought this house that I'm living in now. The great thing about owning your own home versus renting is you get to keep some amount of the money you pay everything in your home equity. This principle paydown is when you pay down a small portion of the loan every month. This home has added up to the other half of my net worth.
Just these two investments have brought my net worth to over $100,000 in roughly five years. These are the two investments that most people can make that can easily compound over time to a solid six figure net worth.
