It's funny that at an age where most action-hero actors stop making action films, Liam Neeson - who was primarily known for playing sensitive, soft-spoken nice guys - suddenly became an action star, and hasn't slowed-down yet!
True, I personally think his wifes unfortunate passing had something to do with his sudden appearance in so many films one after the other. Seems like he decided to throw himself into his work to help cope.
haha I only noticed that the main character was called Mike and that Mike's actor from the Breaking Bad world played someone else, I didn't connect that someone else's name with Walt
ofc its fast, easy money. liam neeson did the serious actors stuff and now just sells out to get as much money as possible for him and his family. i would do the same.
@@metalspy Wouldn't call it selling out, that implies he doesn't take them seriously, which he does. He's not exactly phoning it in like Bruce Willis now or Nic Cagge when he was still deep in debt.
The funny part is $100,000 is only like three semesters at an American university. Even if he played along and got the money, it wouldn't solve his problem
@@pokemonfanmario7694 it’s a business not a school. If it isn’t a community college, the university is a private organization(business) so they can charge w.e they want and increase it because they know the government will give out the loan to people who want to attend, and the loan can’t be forgiven or you can’t claim bankruptcy to get rid of it. That’s why universities don’t care how much they charge. Really messed up but what can you do. That’s why many people are choosing to be in business for themselves or go to trade school instead. Universities are high end robbers at this point.
It's a matter of supply and demand. When you have millions of students from all over the world applying to your university and there are not enough quality universities, those top universities can charge whatever the hell they want.
@@PJOZeus I'm from the UK and its ridiculous that so many of these movies seem to start because someone lost their job or someone has to pay hospital bills for a loved one.
@@crapcase3985 not the only one from the uk here, although thats kind of irrelevant? the thought of not continuing to spend as much is insane to a yank, hence desperation, and also of course they don't have universal healthcare at which point, when for a loved one, its fueled by love and money not to mention relatable to them
I remember watching this movie. Honestly the tension built up throughout was a lot better than the actual payoff, but it was still quite an enjoyable flick at the least.
The ending is just some Cop telling him his family is safe because they arrested 3 men outside? That’s so anti-climatic. You just caught them? They must’ve not that big of a threat…
I think Joanna is a whistle-blower protector & used Liam to help the gurl. No harm was going to come to his family but she needed someone neutral to flush out the mole w/in an organization he used to work for. Just my measly opinion lol 🤷♀️.
@@iclickedbecauseiamtiredofs4630 still, being a protector but ordering so many people (including the dude with an fbi badge) to get killed on the train also, she was the one that paid people on the train to kill that girl (and the dude got killed in the process) it can't be that she's an official right??
@@kees0313 uh no 'she' didn't pay anyone IF so give the timestamp of that reveal🙄. And if that was the case there wouldn't even be a movie because he would have went to save his FAMILY instead of bothering with a train in the first place🤦♀️. The girls life WAS important & needed saving because whistle-blower do NOT get protection👎.
@@BrunoNeureiter shut up, time is time and nobody ever refers to themselves as being a kid just 3 years ago. Will he think he's a grandfather in another 3 years and refer to his adulthood?
@@philipocallaghan Shut up? You shut up. I was just trying to understand his way of thinking, since I don't start thinking something's intentions are off from the get go
Ended up watching the movie after listening to the first two and a half mins of the recap. Movie was well done and love seeing Liam Neeson do these longer action scenes in continuous takes.
Do you think it's still worth watching after seeing this recap? Are there any moments/scenarios that he missed that's worth watching the entire movie for?
@@JayForsure I watched this movie in theaters when it first came out and it was very fulfilling to watch it full length back then. Watching this recap feels unsatisfying. I'd say it's definitely worth watching the entire thing.
I thought Mike would be the one who didn’t belong since he had a bag and the 25K didn’t initially belong to him I figured up until murders started that Mike would be given the other 75K if he admitted that the 25 didn’t belong to him
A tiny bit of foreshadowing I just noticed is that when Mike tells Alex about Johanna and what she's making him do, nothing happens to him and, in a way, it hints that Alex is working with Johanna or the group she's with
I like to think this is the same Liam Neeson character from Non-Stop, and he has a hard time taking public transportation without being contacted on the phone by someone who wants to mess with him.
Meeting his friend Alex Murphy... The cop? So after the events of this movie, Alex must have moved to Detroit with his wife and kid and was gunned down by Clarence Boddiker's gang and became Robocop? THAT Alex Murphy?
@@RuneKatashima It's not like he knew any better than they did. Surely they could have put someone from their organization that they trusted rather than a complete stranger that might not do what they want.
