Oddly reminds me of the Owlabs Spring! Decided to try this out and have been surprided at how much it resembles the Spring - from the LED bar to the leaf spring mount! Also has this metal backplate which is a nice addition to the board!

Can we use the owlab spring pcb and plate for this? I am planning to buy one. And I have some spring extras sitting around.

Yes! 😅 Funnily enough, when you connect the Weikav's board to VIA, it reads it as Owlabs Spring!

0:40 hah! you activated that infamous windows feature by pressing shift repeatedly. I have painful memories with that button in-game and especially in Minecraft parkour maps where you need to duck after each jump to stay securely on a block

Yes preassembled barebones, unfortunately no VIA/QMK support yet, but has its own software!

Hey, like I said to another commenter, there is VIA support now. Got to Mechkeys store page for Weikav Record and under Driver hyperlink you will find a .json file for VIA. Cheers

What's the thickness of the pcb? Is it compatible with pcb mounted stabs?

Yes it's compatible and I used akko Screw-ins for the build! As to thickness I think its 1.6mm but I'll double check!

Sounds great, looks great as well! They ripped off the Owlab? I guess that TN clone one wasn't enough for all of us 1. How is the surface finish? I guess I can live with the same level of finish as people reported with the Sugar65 or M71 with these features and value, but wouldn't hurt if they improved it. This one is a special version coating as well? 2. VIA would have been nice. How much can you do with the software? With a layout like this I'd want the option to put FN on Caps Lock or whatever key and have an ALT GR instead of FN

Exactly my thoughts, it's like a poor man's Owlabs! There's two types of finish depending on the colors chosen, this one is electrophoresis (e-coat) and is very very smooth and far from the sugar65 or M71. Other colors are anode (haven't gotten my hands on one but people say it's still pretty smooth) Haven't explored the software that much but I did test basic key remappings and it works flawlessly with the software!
