Sadly the BangGood price has increased by 50% since your video, making the delta between them only about $15. I own a pair of the Jet Jams for use in our pool, the dogs love to chase them around the edge of the pool, so I was gonna give the cheaper option a try, but it doesn't appear much cheaper anymore. This always seems to happen when the knock off stuff gets a good review, they hike the price up :)
@@MatHousema that happens a lot but the good news is you can buy this boat on Walmart also which means less wait times but if you do expect to pay roughly the same price as the horizon hobby maybe 10 bucks less around 100 bucks. I took an early risk and got it from banggood early at the lower price. Never bought anything from banggood so took a big risk. Will let you know what happens.
After seeing your channel I've bought my first plane X450 and also two UDI908 speedboats - all awesome models. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Presentation is slick, especially whilst controlling too. That Torpedo boat actually makes quite a good recovery vehicle too. My one I weathered and it looks like a hobby grade machine now but for the price of a toy. Replaced batteries with AA rechargable ones and it runs for 2 hours. Now I fancy a jet boat - you guys are costing me money lol.
Abby. You keep outclassing Nate! Good job girl!!! Your laugh is infectious (in a good way)!!!! I know this is boat week but after seeing your Eachine P51 video for the fifth time......I took the plunge. It's in the post!!!!
Thanks for your videos. I spent 2 weeks watching your videos trying to find the best first rc boat for myself. I ended up getting the Stalthwake. Keep em comming. You too are great.
Awesome video, made my morning watching you both with the noodle. Keep up the great work. That looks an awesome option for boats that do not have any auto levelling
I have no idea how I ended up here or why I'm watching adults play with boats but man that enthusiasm lol. Can't be mad at people for enjoying themselves, kinda want an rc boat now
AWESOME!!! BWII '21!! GREAT SHOW!! I would probably have the ORANGE boat only because I would have bought it from its own video!! Really FUN and FUNNY review?!! Thanks Saylors!! 💟👍😘
Hahaha! OMG, one of the funniest & totally fun video ever, you guys!!! I lost it when Nate called the stern, the "butt end of the boat!"🤣 Great racing footage from a very steady drone! Oh, I loved this one!!! Take care! JP ♥️
@@TheRcSaylors It's obvious & amazing to me, how much hard work goes into your craft! You guys are blessed to be able to do what you love! And, we are blessed by receiving the end product of the beautiful & fantastic content! Keep up the awesome work!!! JP ♥️⚓'s vids!
A third boat week 🥲🥲 who knew that was a possibility. Finally a rescue video, that was certainly using your🍜 noodle🍝 😄😄. I think the noodle could still be usable. Trim the length a bit more, leave the noodle attached, and cut the bottom 1/2 -3/4 off avoiding cutting where the noodle is attached. It might ride above the water for less drag.🤔🤔. Might 🐝🐝 worth a try. So water you wading for bring on the 🚤🛶⛵🛳⛴🛥🚢's. ⚓⚓👍💚👍🍜🍝👍⚓⚓.
Why's everyone so obsessed with this pool noodle idea?! Worked just fine without it... Not seeing the benefit of modifying a pool noodle to make it more difficult. No size pool noodle however you want to trim, cut and size is going to make that boat more agile or useful... Let it go people. LMAO 😂🤣. Nice content guys 👍
Did make sense though..the black pusher is designed to let the water flow through, adding the noodle just made a drag or a bulldozer bucket effect. I was thinking, as Abby did, if you went behind the boat as far as the water channeling on either side instead of slapping the side causing the drag.
Very valiant attempt on the last recovery guys, but I think your little catcher on the front with the noodle attached to it but slightly above the water line and then you’d definitely have the perfect recovery unit. Keep up the Great Work and as always Stay and Play Safe !! 👊👍
Just ordered the White one and I'll be 3D printing a recovery type system for it for a lot less than $50 more...! 😁👍🏼 Also used your link, Thanks, good job and keep the videos coming. 😎🤙🏼
I think a horse shoe shape would work better for pushing boats in. The maybe you could push from the stern of the victim boat. Like the boats the jet ones are the coolest.
I think something like a coat hanger weaved through and then extending out to either side instead of a pool noodle so that you've got more of a u shaped capture system would work a lot better. The pool noodle is just too much drag against the water unfortunately. If you coat the noodle in a hydrophobic coating or like...beeswax itd probably be better, but there's really no need for that, just use fence wire or a wire coat hanger.
Hey Saylors, hope you're doing well 😀 After watching boat week 1, I ordered our first rc boat after 25 years (last one: Graupner Key West), two Eachine EBT02 for me and my 4-year old son. And we had so much fun, that after boat week two, we ordered the Udi005 and the Flytec V008. We haven't had the chance up to now, to try them, but we are really looking forward to it. And of course we're looking forward to the the boats, that will come with boat wk 3 😁 One question, can you tell us, if there's a part no. of the bumper and the catch tray of the proboat jet jam, so we could upgrade the Flytec V008 with it? Thank you very much in advance. You're both doing a great Job! 😉
@@TheRcSaylors I am hoping to maiden my volantex vectorsr80 pro this week here in Britain! sunshine has arrived for our 3 week summer ! But I do have fencing to finish darn it!
Does the boat come with the recovery piece up front? I don't see a link for that piece anywhere. EDIT never mind , i finally saw it in the picture on the Horizon website for the PRoboat model.
Not sure if I am the only one but I have now had 2 of these boats seize and stop working after aprox 3 - 4 uses in lake water (1 from proboat and 1 from China) Saved my sonicwake 36 once but this is probably a buyer beware product. I would look elsewhere for a reliable retrieve boat.
Have one of these and a Sprint jet, there's actually a maintenance section that says you still need to grease the drive shaft just like any other boat (didn't know that until my sprint jet got really slow) took it apart, cleaned and lubed, good as new 👍. Saw another video where a guy used 3/4 pipe insulation instead of a full size noodle, seemed to work well
I can see one very good use for the orange boats catcher cup thing, if you play disc golf and land in water it would help get your disc back. But I was wondering, can the white boat take that catcher thing? Does the white one have any points on its front to mount something like that if you printed one?
If you have a 3d printer making that cow catcher and a stand would be easy enough, and far cheaper than the difference. It would have been interesting to see if the white boat could use the cow catcher, and if it could, would its 3 speeds help on boat recovery
If you had a 3D printer, yes. That's an expensive "if" 😉😁 Also, it can't be attached to the white one at least as is because there is no housing on the front of the white boat like there is on the orange one. Could probably be added with the right tools though.
@@ChilltimeRc2.4GHz that's what Iam going to do eather 😉👍🏽 I want to test two brushless system one with outruner Motor that should make it after the conversion self righting again...
@@a-ztube damed🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😅🤗 You better say it before with the out runner😜. Yeah good thinking about that. Is my first boat. But still I have a Arrma Big Rock and a Gmade GS02F Buffalo Military. And some 1/16 and 1/24. Hope on Monday the boat will arrive. So I can see if it will work 😉
@@a-ztube tell you me first . Because its my first boat. And i have to learn how i can fix them. And my boat arrived yesterday and I am still not Flash 😜😂
Horizon wasn’t a real big help with my recent enquiry. They did reply quick. Still at HALF the price for virtually the same product - I’ll stick with the cheaper brand. No stand (that seems odd)or push bar feature on the cheap version but not a deal breaker. ALL parts are from China for both.
Hey I have the jet jam but my removable cup (the black screen/gate you can screw on/off) has broken. Horizon hobby doesn’t offer replacements and mines broke off and was unretrievable. Could you give me some quick dimensions (length/width/height) on it so I could possibly get it 3D printed? Thanks
I own a proboat blackjack 24 catamaran that doesn't have auto righting. The noodle will work great recovery tool since I have the orange boat also, ahh maybe not
Both are probably made with the same parts different motor maybe. Assembling in China you have to pay some 9 year old 50 cents a month ( that's before he had to pay for renting the tools) in the USA, a high school kid had to make $15 dollars an hour.
You missed the boat on this review. Pun intended, Proboat the "Namebrand" as you call it is made in China, unfortunately like everything else in our hobby most of it made there. That being said company's like horizon buy out a company like Proboat that used to make hobby grade products. Because a all plastic pool toy has a name like on it like Proboat it in my opinion does not make it name brand. The funny part is I just looked up the specs on the "knockoff " boat, and it has way more features than the PROBOAT. 1st of all it has reverse so a piece of duct tape and a noodle way better recovery boat. Low range warning and a low battery warning. Oh yeah Horizon hobby has that low battery thing too....... except you have to spend a boat load of money to invest in their "smart system". Sorry for the rant, I enjoy your channel. And Nate.... Abby is a better driver🤣
I think we pretty fairly demonstrated both boats in this video. Pros and cons to both options! Trust us, we wish there were good RCs made in America that we could get behind. Sadly, very few are willing to pay the "American price tag" and said company would likely struggle.
I actually don't know. I was looking at it. And click on blue and said 75 dollars on it. I dont like how they change pricing on their website. I remember that dhk zombie truck so cheap before like just lil 250 dollars for it when first came out. Now they change it to 440 dollars and now it's old news... what's up with that ?? Weird how they does this to that website.
I really wish they would just be Consistent on pricing, unless they were running a sale or something. I get prices going up, sadly... wish they weren't though.
We would Not feature products from them if they weren't the Best place to buy budget RCs. They are not perfect (slow shipping compared to Amazon) but are a reliable place to save money on RC stuff. We do not feature certain websites for that very opposite reason. If it's a company we recommend, you are good to go. Ever wonder why we stopped featuring Gearvest!? 😉😁⚓
If you or anyone wants to go to my page, I made a recovery system using PVC and pool noodles that can capture downed RC planes or boats. We needed it to recover our RC planes if we didn't have our kayaks. You can see it do an actual rescue.
I love your videos! I was "the viewer" who requested on making this vid... lol.. But I couldn't wait for this video so I bought it when it first showed in your channel. I found that you have to make sure you DO NOT exceed a certain length on that pool noodle. I tested this for my self and it works PERFECTLY at 10 inches or LESS .. Still maneuverable and it does not cause too much drag. Here is a video of someone who posted in my facebook RC boat group (NOT MY VIDEO). It works great!! Maybe you guys should do a "pool noodle Rescue boat Redemption video."? hahahaha. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qczq4BiyjUA.html
Hey guys also I just wanted to mention.. At the very beginning for this video I saw This exact picture of Nate holding the jet jam with the ridiculous looong pool noodle attached to the front of the boat on Horizon Hobby's IG page lol
